Dirty nonupdated hotel

By far worst Best Western I’ve stayed at. The hotel is very dirty and outside as well. Given a room that was still occupied. Awkward! Precheck in had no benefit. Had to do everything just as though I hadn’t done it.

Firstly the room was clean and the price reasonable. The included breakfast was very good. My dissatisfaction was with staff and a special request about the bed linens. I was totally ignored. First I made the reservation on line directly through Best Western, not a third party like Travelocity. Then I phoned the hotel directly with my request and was told it would be taken care of. After checking in I checked the bed in my room and it was NOT as requested. I phoned the front desk and only got a voice mail option. I left a message, but never received a response. If I had been told in the beginning they could not accommodate my request or had been called back I would have either brought my own or tried a different hotel. Worse was that after checking in, my concern was ignored when I attempted to talk with them. I ended have to go to a Kohls and buy what I needed. I know my request can be a bit of extra work for the housekeeping staff and thus I always leave a 20+% tip for each night. But this time it would appear my request and subsequent efforts never even made it to housekeeping and were completely ignored.
