We enjoyed the resort a lot! The lazy river was exciting, delightful, refreshing and relaxing.
Our room was amazing; spacious, clean, and trendy. The view was breathtaking.
I highly recommend the spa. We checked in a few hours early and spent time at the pool - no kids allowed, and then my husband and I parted ways to our gender locker rooms to enjoy the hottub, sauna, & steam roof. My massage was heavenly.
The positives were many.
We did have a couple of items that we were not so keen on...
• In our beautiful room, there was no outlet anywhere near/on the desk. We could not plug in our computer and work at the desk.
• There were only 2 options for dinner; Tia Carmen and Roy's. Both of which were very expensive and not worth the money.
• We treated ourselves to room service for dinner on the last night of our stay. Our food was the best meal we had all week. However, it was delivered in a paper bag, with plastic utensils. No plates of any kind. It was quite challenging cutting up our yummy steak with a plastic knife in a plastic container. When I order room service, I want it to be delivered on the beautiful tray, with silverware and such.
A fine resort overall

Stayed here in mid May. As expected the weather was 100+ degrees, so the extensive pool facilities were the best feature. There is a river pool as well as 3 other pools in the complex, and we didn’t have any issue finding chairs. (you could also rent cushioned chairs or cabanas but we saw no need, and they are pricey.) There is poolside service from the bar for food and drinks, though service availability could be spotty.
The room was good size with a generous balcony, we had a good view of the pool area but on floor 5 so not too noisy. We had a king bed room with a sofa bed for our daughter, she said it was not too comfortable but that’s typical for a sofa bed. Our king bed was very comfortable. Bathroom has separate shower and tub, everything in good working order, no issues.
This is a large resort so there are plentiful food options. The stand out was the relatively new Tia Carmen, which featured upscale southwestern cuisine, and was delicious, with very good service. There is also simpler fare at the patio area as well as a poolside eatery, food quality was very good. The only disappointment was Roy’s, a quasi-Polynesian venue. The food was quite good, but we were seated outside and inundated with flies. I mean, swarmed. Flies are a fact of life outdoors but this was more than I have ever seen. We toughed it out and the server apologized, but when we said we would like to move inside for dessert, the server just gave us our check and walked away. Huh? So we went to Tia Carmen for dessert (their Churros are great). Aside from the Roy’s experience service was very good and people were friendly.
The gym is well equipped and covered by the mandatory resort fee, with ellipticals, treadmills and a few Peletons as well as a limited number of weight machines. To use the lockers, hot tub and sauna or the spa pool required $35 per person on top of the resort fee, so we passed. There were two hot tubs at the main pool area, one was so hot it was unusable and the other wasn’t working, but in the 100 degree heat we really didn’t care too much.
Overall a very nice place to vacation, the best feature being the pool complex.
