I had read so many bad reviews prior to our visit to the Arizona Grand we almost switched resorts. My kids (12 and 13) were so excited about the water park and begged me not to cancel. I’m glad we went! Yes, the resort does have some opportunities and is getting older but overall we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would go back.
Pros: if you have kids, they will LOVE the water park. The water slides and lazy river were a hit! Bring old flip flops or water shoes because the cement is so hot you will need them walking even a short distance. We stayed in a Grand Suite which was large and beautiful. It has a separate bedroom with a king bed. In the living room there is an (uncomfortable) pull out couch but it worked for the kids. There is also a half bath and a kitchenette with a fridge. The Grand Suites are in the Mountainside building which is the farthest from the pool. It would have been to be closer but it was only about a 5 minute walk. There was also a small pool across from our room which was nice. One night we went to Rustlers Rooste which was great! Good food and music, great view. There is a shuttle that will pick you up in the lobby every 15 minutes.
Cons: The hotel is getting older. Nothing terrible that would keep us from going back. Food options are limited. There is food in the water park but it is very expensive. I would recommend the chicken strips, the order is huge and two can easily split. No housekeeping comes to the room. Not a huge deal but I love coming back to a clean room.

We had two rooms at this resort for the first leg of our Journey in Arizona. The rooms are excellent and spacious, we could've stayed in the room and would've had a grand time. The oasis water park was great and convenient to access. The golf course was gorgeous and very fun to play, unless like me you're not very good and then you will get up close and personal with the desert scenery. The staff everywhere was amazing and helpful. The fitness center was a step above especially for hotel gyms but I have seen some small gyms that don't have as much or as varied equipment.
The one major downside is that they are the perfect convention resort and they're will be tons of people there at all times!
