We stayed in this resort for 2 weeks. The staff and service was amazing. Especially Chemo that is responsible for the oak restaurant and the good wines that are not included in your all-inclusive deals did an outstanding job to make us feel at home and serve us the best wines in his Portofolio and offer us all the dishes served from the restaurants in the resort! This person knows what is guest services!! The rest of the staff is also super friendly and helpful. The food varies every day. We know as we stayed for 2 weeks in a swim-out room! Highly recommend as you have your private pool during busy weekend days.. We really got a vip treatment the whole stay. One tip don't fall for the sales talkes of the memberships because they make you feel uncomfortable if you don't go for it.. Tours service on the property as a recommend as we had an amazing experience via Leo that booked us 2 tours(sunset horse riding and waterfalls and Monkeyland combo). A advise for the resort is to be able to change your towels as well at the towel service around the pool for the guests with a swim out room. We loved our stay at Emotions Hotelpa Puerto Plata !! Many islanders in the Caribbean can learn from the friendless people is DR!!! Warm regards, Sander &Amber-Grace
Nice to see some things don't change

fter 5 years we returned to Emotions by Hodelpa in Playa Dorado. What did we find? Not much has changed. We were greeted warmly by familiar faces. Xiomara in the Member’s concierge office enveloped me with a big hug. Roberto in the Opus Bar surrounded my husband in a bear hug. We had read some recent reviews complaining about large crowds from cruise ships taking over the resort. There were at least 2 days where cruisers visited the resort. Besides the traditional dancers greeting the group as they arrived, we did not notice the additional visitors. We didn’t expect them to affect the member’s only areas, but I also didn’t see an effect by the main pool, on the beach, or in the buffet. Not sure what all the fuss was about. Good for the resort for trying to explore additional income sources to aid in the post-covid recovery. The beach for most of our stay was beautiful and free from seaweed. Unfortunately, day 7 the seaweed showed up as well as excessive windy conditions, resulting in a red flag day. The resort has many activities for those who want to be active. There is a gym, tennis court, batting cage, archery, soccer field, giant chess board, mini-golf, and a real golf course right across the street. Special mention to some of the wonderful staff who made our stay memorable: Leonidas who serviced out room, Roberto in the main buffett who moved like lightning, roberto and Alberto in the Opus bar, Genesis and Scarlett in the Aroma Restaurant, and Xiomara who magically makes all problems disappear (especially when our flight was affected by a storm and we had to stay a few extra nights).
