Iberostar overall

Overall stay was good! Buffet food always the same everyday and night, very little alternatives. It was very quiet till Friday came along and families and couples from Santo Domingo took over the resort. You feel as if you are the minority and you are bumped into and they cut in line and don’t have respect, a real turn off.

The Resort is fabulous. The food was exquisite whether it was the buffet or ala carte. Josue at the pool bar always made sure our glasses were full. Diana and Maria were there for anything we needed. So many staff members to thank for great service....Carolina....Raudy....Rudys....Carisimo....Leidy....Ester.....Generoso. So many more need recognition but running out of space. We were treated so special that we are already planning a return visit. Thank you to everyone for such a great week.

We stayed for a week in September and the best part of Iberostar Costa Dorada are the staff. All of the employees greet you with a smile and are very helpful. Jesus at the pool bar is the best bartender ever! He remembered everybody's drinks and had your next drink ready before you could even ask. The lobby bar is fantastic. The grounds are well-maintained and the resort was always clean. There are accessibility ramps around the resort and shuttle carts for those who need them. We saw security around the resort all day and night and we felt very safe. The beach was beautiful. No seaweed at all. Plenty of seats by the beach and pool, no "towel wars" here. Lots of nice shaded areas as well. Some of the vendors on the beach were pushy to get you to view their beach shop. Tourists that went there said that it was extremely overpriced and not worth it. If you want to go jet ski, snorkeling, or parasailing, the diving booth on the right side of the beach organizes it. The main buffet had a lot of variety and the food was very good. We did two a la carte restaurants, the Japanese was a lot of fun and the food was great. The Italian restaurant was also good. Some rooms have strong air conditioning, some don't. If yours isn't working, ask to change rooms because maintenance never showed up to fix it. Housekeeping was great. Beds are comfortable. The safe in the room is free. Wifi works well around the resort. We had some issues with the keycards; if you have it close to a wallet or phone, it'll deactivate. They'll reactivate it at the lobby desk. Unfortunately, we only enjoyed 4 out of our 7 days at the resort. Starting on Fridays at 2pm, locals come to the resort to enjoy their weekend. Many countries do this and we've never minded it. It was different this time. Other tourists warned us about the approaching weekend chaos but we didn't think anything of it until Friday afternoon rolled around. We went during the low season so lots of locals were expected, but the issue was the hostility towards the tourists. We were shoved at the buffets multiple times during each meal, shouted over at the bars, and constantly pushed off of our chairs at the pool bar. I wish I was exaggerating but I'm not. We know that this is not the resorts fault. It's very unfortunate that such a nice resort left a bad taste in our mouths by the end of the week. We won't be returning but I'll leave some tips to get you through the weekends: -Go to the breakfast buffet right when it opens at 7am -Go to the snack bar or beach bar for lunch instead of the buffet -BOOK A LA CARTE restaurants for Friday and Saturday dinner (the desk is beside the excursion desk at the lobby) -The right side of the beach (near the diving booth) is quiet/less busy -Upgrade to star prestige for Friday and/or Saturday to have access to a quiet bar without line-ups at the beach. -Book your excursions on Friday and Saturday Like I said the resort is fantastic and before the weekend we were talking about returning annually. After the weekend, we've changed our minds.

Pool had lots of mold on the floor and around the walls. The room was very outdated, it only had two outlets near the bed and two in the bathroom. The food wasn’t the best when I compare it to other resorts I’ve been to. The entertainment could have been a whole lot better, when compared to other resorts
