Amazing experience here at Puerto Vallarta and canto del sol. Couldn’t have asked for more from the hotel. Everyone is very polite, friendly and attentive. Reception staff are helpful, the bell boys are great and special shout out to the bar/restaurant staff. Jorge was especially great, he works extremely hard, very friendly and will always get you what you want from the bar without even having to ask. The restaurants on site are- Japanese, Italian and Mexican. They are essentially all you can eat as you can order anything you would like from the menu. Again, the waiters/waitresses were brilliant. There is also an all you can eat buffet, lots of traditional Mexican dishes. The snack bar is also pretty much open all day so you’ll never go hungry. There are 3 pools at the hotel, the main pool is very big and has lots of activities on throughout the day. The entertainment guys were very fun and got everyone involved. You can use the hotels towels for around the pool with your free towel card when you arrive. Spacious rooms. They were spotless every day they were refreshed, clean towels given daily. The maids were brilliant. The hotel is around 10 minutes drive from malecon which is the main strip of restaurants and bars. It’s also around 10 minutes to the marina where lots of excursions take off from. The location is great and only around a 20 minute drive to/from the airport. The beach is right next to the hotel, you can see it from the pool. Waves are quite choppy and not an awful amount of sunbeds although still lovely to be able to watch the beach/sea as you are lounging about by the pool. There are nearby beaches that have clearer water and possibly better for swimming, we asked our TUI rep for different beaches nearby (around 20-30 minutes away). Lots of Mexicans stay at the hotel although this is what makes the experience. Lots of activities to do in surrounding areas, including zip lines, beach trips, boat rides, horse riding, visits to local towns, snorkelling… etc! The hotel couldn’t have been better and we will definitely be going back to Puerto vallarta!

The ceviche restaurant and breakfast were excellent. Lunch and dinner buffet not very good. The lobby bar and drinks were really great and we had excellent service from Adan who made the cocktails and made our visit really welcoming and great.

Akita asian restaurant at canto del sol They worked with my vegan diet. Very good food! Great staff and service. Great option for families.. nice ambiance, very clean. Creative and yummy drinks. Worth a try

Came here with TUI on an all inclusive package. Same price as a trip to Greece, (probably because it’s coming into their wet season), so I thought why not? The weather has been good, the food fine in the buffet restaurant and better in the specialty ones. The staff are friendly and obliging, so if their English isn’t great and they mistake your drinks order, they will change it no problem. The locals are equally friendly, unlike stories I’ve heard about Cancun.

We managed to get a real bargain over the xmas period and it was the most incredible stay. Yes the rooms need some TLC but you can tell that from the photos and research and you cant let that sway you from this place. FOOD INCREDIBLE STAFF INCREDIBLE LOCATION BRILLIANT Sea was a little choppy , gym is terrible and the rooms are shabby but the pools are fab , the drinks are great , the service is friendly and the hotel in general deserves a 4 star but staff a 5 star :) - I would and will def return
