Just average

S2BKmikeh (Mesa, Arizona) on Jul 04, 2022

Was overpriced for the value, likely will not return to this resort. Too many other choices on Bavaro Beach closer to the airport. Transportation is $70 each way...expensive too. Food was very average. Beach front was not impressive.

Was ok

donisha07 (Tampa, Florida) on Jul 03, 2022

Fun, cute for the money. Food was mediocre, pool atmosphere was fun and vining. The machinery moving the seaweed on beach was was a mood kill. Room service took forever. The spa service by Sonia was amazing!! Our room got turn down service only one time and smelled weird.

First time to EEC and DR

LIRich (Richmond, Virginia) on Jul 03, 2022

We traveled as 2 couples. This was our first trip to this resort and to the DR. Will we go back to this resort? No. Will we go back to the DR? Maybe. Service: some good, some not great. Several servers and concierge seemed bothered, but they weren't overtly rude. Definitely friendly employees located throughout the resort though. Overall I found our experiences in Jamaica and Mexico had better service. Maintenance: both couples had to call for issues, and anytime we called we received immediate responses. Very impressed. Facilities: the grounds staff works very had. The resort is stunning and keep it looking amazing. The main areas of the resort were also very well kept and clean. Room: we stayed in Room 3051, Excellence Club (EC) junior swim up suite. Building 3 is quiet and close to the beach, perfect location. We had no issues with our room. Our suite was on the end, which was nice and private, but there was a lot of vegetation next to the pool and it felt constantly dirty. The pool staff was automatically cleaning the pool daily, but we often had to call them to come clean it again because it got so dirty so quick. But as I mentioned with maintenance they always called immediately. Our friends on the other hand had a rough time with their room(s). At first they were right down the hall in 3067, EC honeymoon private pool suite. Two nights in a row they went to turn on the in room jacuzzi and they lost power to their entire room! After two nights they were moved to a EC honeymoon junior swim up suite (7065) and the shower wouldn't drain and the room had a strong odor (I thought it smelled like gas). They really had a rough time. In addition to being moved they were compensated a complimentary spa service for their troubles. One thing I wish was better for our room was pool side service. Our room (located in 3A) did not have any wait staff walk our pool. The EC bar, Cielo, is located right next to the building. For EC level service, seems appropriate to have staff walking through. We shouldn't have to get out of the pool to go get drinks. Housekeeping: The beginning of the week, everything was perfect. Daily cleaning, stocking of mini bar, and nightly turn down service. Towards the second part of the week the staff changed and so did the service. After housekeeping came they did not replenish toilet paper or tissues. Nightly turn down service was done, but the first person have us bottles of water by the bedside nightly (we didn't ask for it, but was perfect). Also our mini bar stopped being stocked. Again, nothing bad, just when you have such an excellent experience up front, you notice when it's different. Beach: AMAZING. We were EC, so I enjoyed the EC section of the beach and the daybeds (not to be confused with cabanas which are a extra cost). The beach is big and the staff works really hard to clean all the sargassum. Probably one of my favorite beaches I've been too. Also note, Punta Cana is on the Atlantic Ocean side of the island, not the Caribbean, so don't expect the different water. Entertainment: great! Really liked all the shows and it was a nice way to end each day. Food: probably my least favorite part of the trip. Very hit or miss. There are a lot of options, but overall the food is very lack luster and was often over cooked. We had some good things, but not enough to make any recommendations. Additionally, all 4 of us had stomach issues at some point in the trip. We exclusively drank bottle water, even to brush our teeth. Special touches: we shared it was our anniversary before going and we received extra services. From the sign on the door, the champagne breakfast in bed, and private dinner on the beach were all very nice (as mentioned earlier the food was not great, but still a lovely gesture). Overall, we did enjoy our trip. The resort, the ambience, the privacy, the entertainment, and the safety help to make a memorable experience. I would recommend the resort to people, just give them the information to make an informed decision.
