My family and I just returned from our first trip to the Dominican. We booked two separate rooms, one for my husband and I and then one for our two adult (19 and 21) boys. We did upgrade to the Finest Club so that we had access to all restaurants, pools, etc. Our boys arrived first and we were soon to follow about 2 hrs behind. Upon entry, the grounds were beautiful and immaculate. They were quick to pour champagne and get us checked in. We were taken to a private area to check in and as the lady brought our keys over she said, we have you in two doubles I hope that is OK. We immediately said that was not what we booked, we booked a King for us and it was not OK. She proceeded to tell us that was a request and they do not guarantee it. She was just so indifferent about it. This was our 25th anniversary! She said she could get us a king in two days. Never apologized, never offered the possibility of upgrading, never acknowledged their mistake or tried to make the situation right. When we were bought to our room, obviously we knew about the doubles but then the couch was pulled out into a bed. This was set up for someone else, maybe a family with little kids, again just upset about our circumstances. The next day we were going to make reservations for dinner at Shoji, which you only need if they are cooking in front of you. We waited and waited for the "private" concierge office to open, which it never did so we went to the front desk to that concierge and asked, according to the front desk "he does not work there anymore" and to make reservations through them. Which is not a big deal by any means, but don't advertise you offer that service and don't. By the time we went to make the reservations, they were fully booked. So went back the next morning, at 8:58 to inquire and book and was told we had to wait until 9am. 2 minutes!!! So needless to say the beginning experience with Finest...was just NOT. I will say this, most of the staff, not the ones at the front desk or in the private office were wonderful, kind and smiling. The entertainment was great, one of the better resorts we've been to. The best gym I have seen at a resort. But because of their indifferent attitude, lack of trying to do correct the issues, just disregarding them, we will never stay at one of their properties again nor will we recommend it. Which I just had a friend ask and we said absolutely not. Their customer service does not compare to others. For reference of other resorts we've stayed, Sandals in Jamacia, El Dorado Royale in Mexico, Live Aqua in Mexico, Ritz Carlton in Aruba.

Truly Finest! The joyful Imagine Kids Club, immaculate resort, delicious cuisine, marvelous customer service, and the exceptional variety of activities (great shows) warrant a five star review! Families, get ready for an incredibly relaxing vacation! Our travel agent recommended the private pool suite (kids actually had a separate sleeping area). It was a supreme hit! Plus, the blob pool (for all ages) made for hours of fun. Even the adults will love it! The kids club earns high marks for their sunshine and kindness. They adore each child that enters their creative center. Our kids wanted to return each night for the themed events! Moreover, the servers were jovial and attentive. This is a vacation for all age levels! We’re ready to return!

Travelled in June (arrived on Father’s Day). My husband, son and I had a suite with the plunge pool along with my sister had the same room. My parents had a swim up patio and we’re on the other side of the resort however it took 5 minutes to get from our room to theirs.
The resort is extremely clean, everyone is so friendly and helpful. The resort is wonderful with children. My son had the time of his life. From the moment we arrived and departed we had the most amazing Bell Boy Ozuna. He got our luggage, and brought it to our room. When we were leaving he came to our room got our luggage and had it out to the transport. He ensured we were able to get a car seat we needed.
Extremely friendly, clean. Great food and service.

Wonderful, wonderful, wonderful!! Resort was beautiful, grounds great, room spectacular-had two story roof top w private pool and jacuzzi. Decorated for anniversary-flower pedals, Champaigne, decorations. Staff was over-the-top friendly, happy, nice. Most even remembered our names. Food was spectacular as were the drinks-not watered down-can get/make whatever you wanted-shots as well!! Stayed at an Excellence resort in Mexico as well-it was the same level of service. This is a wonderful Resort Brand-The Excellence. Will use them hopefully again and again. Would recommend at the highest level.
Great time at Excellence Finest Punta Cana

The staff at Excellence Punta was great from the minute you get there to the minute. Luis at front desk is awesome. He handled anything that we needed him to get done for us. Many of the restaurants are great! Staff overall very very great, Fun times at night. Private Excellence room very nice as well. Was cleaned very well everyday. Will go back because the staff was so great!
