Spent a week in mid-March 2021. We’d stayed here several years ago & it was just as elegant & beautiful as we remembered. Note: we’d done various Sandals in Jamaica for 10 years - I’d say this is distinctly a step up (although I was partial to Sandals Royal Caribbean for it’s intimate understated elegance). It was a bit strange w/occupancy so low due to COVID- the several restaurants were doing some rotating rather than all being open all the time, but that’s ok - just how much can you eat in one day? Not the kind of place to go to as a ‘base’ for off-resort explorations- just a beautiful Oceanside setting.

This was my first time at a Grand by Iberostar and it will take a lot of convincing to stay at anything less. Danilo and Eduardo our butlers were top notch, checking in on us and making sure we had everything we needed. Marisol worked wonders in the spa with a facial and volcano mud body wrap, she was professional and did a great job. Tomas and Sujeidy at the lobby bar were always engaging, laughing, and attentive. Kerlin always made sure we had nice cold drinks at the beach and/or poolside. Jose at the pool grill cooked up some of the best food we've tasted in a long time (the salmon was EXCELLENT).
Amazing resort, almost perfect

Very elegant and beautiful resort with a very good customer service. You have your own butler that can guide you through the day and if you are with Eduardo then you are very lucky because he is the best.
By being with grand bavaro you also have accesse to the 4 other resorts next to it.
The food was amazing and the ribeye was top notch.
Lots of fun activities and excursion available on site.
The only downside is the beach that was full of seaweed and the water wasnt clear.
Excellent Mother & Daughter Trip

The Bavaro Grand is now my new home away from home! The employees that work at this resort are absolutely the best I’ve EVER met at ANY resort. If you search my previous reviews you will see I’ve been to many others. I’m a beneficiary for Iberostar The Club (my parents are members) so I’ve been to a few other Iberostar resorts and this is my favourite so far, mainly because of the employees!! When you stay here you will be treated like family. They were so kind to me and my mother and made all of our wishes come true! Here are a few of the exceptional folks we met this week:
Alberto was our main Butler this week. I have only had one other butler experience before, but wow, Alberto was simply incredible. You have to meet him to understand. Just a really nice man. Darlyn was only working for a few of the days, but I could tell that if he worked the entire time they would be THE dynamic duo.
Spa: WOW! Massages were one of the main reasons I wanted to get away for the week. I really needed some relaxing massages to unwind from a hectic work schedule. Yajaira was a dream. I requested her every day. Mimosa worked on my mom. My mom usually doesn’t like massages, but she sure loved Mimosa!! When those two lovely ladies were having their day off, we also received awesome massages from Belicia and Diana.
Prestige concierge: Yineiry (Gigi) was excellent. This women can do anything. My mom was having issues with her phone and Gigi fixed it!
Prestige beach: Augusto was our main guy who looked after our every need at the beach. Manuel and Carlos were also super nice guys. Dario is a sweet young man who we just loved - Augusto is his mentor, and I just loved that!
Food! Wow the food. Our favourite was the Japanese, but you really can’t go wrong with any of them. Recommend trying the salt crusted Sea Bass at the Mediterranean. The buffet was great for every meal! Dominicain and Gala nights at the buffet were great for us. A few folks that made us feel like family at the restaurants were Samuel, Yary, Stephany and sweet little Maria with the lovely smile.
We weren’t impressed with the Michael Jackson show, but El Divos made up for it. These men can sing! I don’t typically care for any shows at any resort, but when I return I will want to see that show again. The saxophonists and singers by the lobby were great. We really enjoyed listening to them.
The resort and grounds themselves are incredible. Spotless and smelled wonderful wherever you went. We stayed in a ground floor room overlooking the gardens and it was perfect for us. Nice and quiet with excellent air conditioning.
I’ll be back in March 2023 (at the latest). I can’t wait to return to this resort and see these lovely people soon.
Was expecting much better

I’ve stayed in Iberostar Bavaro Suits In 2018 and after almost 4 year break we decided to upgrade to adults only Iberostar Grand Bavaro. In my understanding this hotel must be the best from all Iberostar hotels and we paid a significant sum for 7 nights, unfortunately the food in this hotel was a disappointment, average repetitive meals at buffet, average dishes at la carte restaurants. You’ll see a lobster dish on the menu but you won’t get it because from March to June is lobster reproduction season so either fix your menu or get frozen lobster tails and keep with the menu. Actually I was expecting a lot of sea food at this hotel but no, you won’t find oysters, crab legs or lobster, they will serve you shrimps at not the best quality.
The staff is ok, they start getting even better once you tip, works like magic with exception of one barman at the pool bar who’s name was Braue or whatever this miserable man name was , whose attitude needs a major improvement. May be the management would try to explain to the guy that actually he’s for the guests and not otherwise and until he realizes that fact switching him to a janitor position until the attitude improves.
The room was ok. Entertainment sucks, awfully boring and most of the times we went to the next hotel to watch a show.
The beach is nice, quiet and nobody bothers you.
I’d recommend this hotel if it was cheaper but dumping 4k for 7 nights for two adults wasn’t worth it.
