Warning ! I’d wait 4 to 5 months to let them finish reconstruction!

William C (Ancaster, Canada) on Nov 26, 2022

Hard hit by hurricane which was not disclosed. Only one restaurant open and constant jack hammers going all day! I think it is impossible to get a warm meal served here. Everything is served cold, sorry can’t get past having cold eggs and bacon in the morning and seafood risotto served cold! Yuk!

Couple get away.

We had a wonderful week at TRS Cap Cana. The staff is wonderful, kind, and joyful. Have to give some special mentions starting with restaurant hostess Yolanda, Stephine, Glendis, Sabrina always happy to see you. Endry at the lobby bar the best drinks ever not to mention a joy to talk with. Francisco I am not sure what his role is but he was always busy keeping things going but never to busy to stop and say hi and ask if we need anything and make it happen if we did need something. The food was wonderful as for a resort food goes. Been going to resorts for 10 years and this was the best food and staff of all. Our Butler Maria was very sweet and kind. We did not use her much as this was a very low key vacation for us however she checked with us several times a day to make sure we had what we needed. I will say if you prioritize your time at the beach this is not the resort for you. Not a problem for us. As long as I can see, hear, and smell the ocean all is well. This is a small resort. Laid out very nicely. I gave a 4/5 because of all the noise from this construction after the hurricane.

Relaxing Vacation

Matt C on Nov 24, 2022

Great relaxing experience. Staff was very friendly and accommodating. Stayed in a swim up room and even received bar service on our patio. Our Butler, Maria, was amazing! She provided excellent services and assisted us with all of our needs. Although the hotel was under construction from hurricane damage during our visit, the staff did a great job of playing music and scheduling activities and events to distract from the construction. We enjoyed our stay!

VERY deceitful stay.

B4146UKlisah (Tampa, Florida) on Nov 24, 2022

This group is hospitable at reception, greeting with smiles and drinks. However they're very cunning and deceptive. There are a list of things that were wrong with our stay so I'll name a few. #1 the hotel had major damages from Hurricane Fiona. We called ahead to see if they were open, to reschedule, and/or cancel. We were assured all was well and to come. #2 We paid extra for "Butler Service." It was non-existent. They wouldn't answer calls, no bed turn downs, you had to seek them, it was absolutely chaotic. #3 Only 2 restaurants were open. We pretty much ate the same food throughout the stay. #4 There was a huge TARANTULA one of our rooms. Butler service wasn't answering, we seemed assistance from restaurant staff just to be laughed at because they thought it wasn't true. Finally got help to the room and one of the guys threw a pillow at it. #5 They cancelled the Cabaret show without notice (had to prepay $35 per person), we requested a refund but was never granted one. We were offered a special dinner but they only had 2 restaurants open so we'd had everything. #6 We were OVERCHARGED for stay at reception. The signature portion is in pesos and USD was in very fine print below. Pretty much unnoticeable, when brought to their attention we were told it'd be refunded within 30 days. I've not received a full refund, I'm still requesting the remaining $90.74. BY THE WAY, the reception staff is fully fluent in English, however when you call requesting refunds they can no longer speak English. Not all the staff were bad. The restaurant staff were superb, Maria was kind (felt uncomfortable because I feel she wasn't in agreeable with what she saw), Cindy is a person with many words but no action, (head of Butler Service). Gilbert Aracena (Front Desk Supervisor) stopped answering calls and emails.

Wonderful resort all round if you're a glass half full people.

We just returned from 7 dreamy days at TRS Cap Cana. Amazing things to know about this resort: For an all inclusive the food and its presentation was exceptional as were the drinks, service even more so. We are self confessed foodies but love to stay, healthy active and fit and so were thrilled that the food was delicious and the staff accommodated special requests like switching the cheddar in our omelettes to manchego. If you are glass half full peeps you will most likely love this place. If you are super picky about everything, you may want to stay somewhere else. Menu at Gaucho steakhouse was our favourite, we really enjoyed Short rib, Skirt steak and Lemon Chicken. Salads are super fresh and terrific. Loved the greek salad on the mediterranean menu. Breakfast omelettes ala carte were fantastic. We ate lunch only twice in the restaurant, salmon with vegetables cous cous and curry chicken were both great. The L'occitane products in the bathroom were lovely. Enjoyed the swim up room with a hammock to laze and read my book. Main pools are big, nicely maintained and have ample lounging options and activities if you choose. The staff are truly full of heart and soul, just lovely humans, each one made our stay super enjoyable. Juan Luiz, Brauly, Edwin, Gregory, Natalie, Byron, Joanna and Endre at the Bar, Alexander at the outdoor grill, Julio and Jose. The walk to the Sea look out out on the ocean each morning to meditate was beautiful. This property is private and on a marina the the little village in Cap Cana is enchanting and has cobblestone streets and quaint lil shops and restaurants. We did not try the restaurants in the village because the food was so good at the resort. Some room for improvement: Gym does not have air conditioning and is quite small. As mentioned by other trip advisors, there is a musty smell in the room, it was bearable and I'm super sensitive to smells. It's a humid environment and the area is recovering from a very recent hurricane, so to be expected. Things like water taps that don't work and mirrors that look quite worn in the public bathrooms and water damaged doors and corridor ceilings could be improved, that is something Palladium Group could address to make it feel closer to Five star. Music in the main restaurant at breakfast was a chill vibe and would be appreciated at the pool. The music at the pool could be quite loud at a good portion of the day. Mattresses in Room were not super comfy. Linens could be newer. Hotel lobby is being repaired from recent hurricane and made significant strides while we were there. Helios restaurant was badly damaged and is not available, although their menu is in the main dining room certain evenings. It will be terrific once repaired for dinner. Beach is not really existent and has seaweed that washes in, but for a mere 3 dollars you can go to Juanillo beach 7 min away and its beautiful. Overall there is definitely more great than to be improved in our opinion.Several staff also asked that we give feedback on how they could improve. We would travel back to this location again. We have both travelled quite a bit to five star. This resort is all five star on food and service and for the price gives excellent value and wonderful service.
