The food was okay, but was expecting more. Drinks at the outside bar took forever on line. Plenty of pools to enjoy. The room wasn’t clean properly, ants all over the tables in the room. The in room jacuzzi wasn’t clean.
Spend your money elsewhere

We just came back from a week at the Hard Rock Hotel and I would say to any of you considering this hotel, determine whether you want a restful vacation and whether eating is important to you. The resort is extremely large. So large that most people take the trolleys to get around, however there are often long wait times at peak hours and unfortunately not much courtesy from some guests who get on in front of people who were waiting there first (to be honest, by the end of the trip, you may start to do things you would never normally do - butt in line, be rude....because this resort encourages a "survival of the fittest" approach). The food and drink is in short supply, restaurant wait times are terrible - or you will simply be refused. One waiter refused to serve us even though we were sitting at a table, another restaurant didn't bring us our food as perhaps they deemed we had ordered too much? One day at lunch, there were no utensils, so we had to eat with our hands. I mean, if you are expecting a 5 star hotel, you don't expect to eat with your hands. On many occasions Spanish speaking guests were able to get food that was hidden behind the counters at the buffet. When I asked, they told me I had to go elsewhere to find it (when I could see it with my own eyes, and they had just served the Spanish people with the very same supply!). Some staff looked and acted miserable towards guests, other were nice and kind.
The beach although beautiful was extremely choppy the entire time we were there (Red flag) and was full of seaweed, which we never saw them remove.
Be prepared for long lineups everywhere, uneven service, extremely average food (and very little variety), no snacks in the room, only beer, water and soft drinks in the mini bar (which was empty when we arrived). Bring comfortable shoes and allow plenty of time to get to one side of the resort to the other. Try to reserve at the restaurants although it seems that some guests are told that you can't.
My last complaint is that for an "all inclusive", very few activities are actually included. Paid activities: bowling, VR, escape room, arcade, mini putt, "surfing"....basically all of the fun activities were not included.
All in all, I would never go back. I heard that they were closed for 8 months during COVID and have not recovered, but it's only fair to give warning to future guests. The grounds are beautiful, the rest is not 5 star to me. I would have left early had I had the opportunity to do so.
