The Iberostar Grand Paraiso is the ultimate adults-only luxury resort with the Iberostar Grand Collection. Oceanfront resort offers exceptional service and impeccable attention to detail. You also receive exchange privileges with the other hotels in the Iberostar Playa Paraíso Golf & Spa Complex with access to 19 restaurants & 19 bars!
We stayed at the Iberostar Grand Paraiso for 10 nights through a JetBlue package. Upon arrival at the hotel, we were offered an upgrade to an ocean front room for $280+ tax. It was well worth the additional money.
We didn't realize the Grand Paraiso was one of several hotels at the extensive Playa Paraiso resort. We were allowed access to the other properties, and enjoyed walking around them; we had lunch at different places.
My husband used Dressel Divers located at one of the sister properties, Paraiso del Mar, to access SCUBA diving. He was very happy with Dressel.
We are very fussy when it comes to food, and were happy with most everything we ate during our 10 day stay.
Adults only (but, don't expect all the adults to act like adults) ;)
Excellent variety and quality of food.
Superb service; every single employee we encountered was friendly and helpful. The place is immaculately kept both indoors and outdoors.
All the employees, even the groundskeepers, wore masks the entire time. It made us feel safer than we do at home, since some people in our area refuse to wear masks.
Even the simple things, like the best hotel blowdryer ever, made me happy.
I did 10,000 steps a day just walking around the resort. Everything is spread out. For people who don't enjoy walking from one area to another, there are always drivers available with golf carts.
There are plenty activities to take advantage of (or not) during the day and night.
There is a separate "quiet" pool without music and activities.
If you want it, the liquor flows freely.
While we were there, the sea was pretty rough. We didn't get to take advantage of the water-sports.
After arrival, you're given some coupons to use towards the spa, jewelry store, etc. Unfortunately, the coupons aren't valid unless you spend quite a bit of money. The spa is expensive.
The house wine was not great. And, if you wanted to pay for different wine, it was overpriced.
Overall, I felt the Grand was exceptional. I would return in a heartbeat.
Dream Vacation - Vacaciones de ensueno

This was our first stay at the Iberostar Grand Paraiso (adults only), but we will return! After taking a private transport from the airport (which I highly recommend to save time getting to your resort), we were greeted with champagne by Andre' at the entrance to the gorgeous lobby, given an overview of what to expect and pampered from beginning to end by the amazing, attentive staff! Our butlers, Luis, Angel and Trinidad made sure we had everything we needed, and the entertainment crew Marianna, Gustavo and Rosenburg (Rosie) taught us to salsa, make authentic quacamole and helped us learn more about Mexico while celebrating Mexico's Independence Day with authentic food, dancing, music and some history lessons. Eli was our expert mixologist at the swim up bar, and along with Francis, made sure we stayed hydrated. :-) Our excursions were arranged by Arianna with Cancun Adventures and these far surpassed what we experienced on our first trip to Mexico. We took the Isla Mujeres snorkeling and island tour day trip. Our tour lead was Ivan, who was fantastic! He and his crew went above and beyond to make sure we had the best day out ever. The snorkeling was amazing and his advice for the island tour was spot on (hint: taxi over golf cart). We had a blast! Our taxi driver Ricardo took great care of us. Our other excursion was the Tulum/Yul-ka experience with tour lead Eduardo and our trusty driver Juan! We started the day with a quick trip to Tulum, so our friends could see the ruins (we visited in 2018), then moved on to swimming in an underground cenote with huge stalactites, fruit bats and some chilly water to cool us off! Next came snorkeling in a lagoon at Yal-ku. We saw all sorts of beautiful fish, and if you don't like open water snorkeling, this was a great alternative. After rinsing off and changing, we finished the day with a quick lunch at Punta Venado beach club. While at the resort, we had our first parasailing experience, which was breathtaking! Despite a small fear of heights, I sucked it up and am so glad I did this! It was so beautiful and peaceful. We arranged this right on the resort. Finally, the view from our beach front room was spectacular, and we met so many wonderful people from all over the world. By the time we left, we felt like family with both staff and guests alike. Lastly, we didn't starve but I recommend sticking with fresh seafood, not beef (beef in Mexico is tough). Viva Mexico!
