Mexico Dreams

This was our first trip to Cancun. Resort was so beautiful! Views were unbelievable and service out of this world. We had a honeymoon suite with ocean view. It was gorgeous. This is an all-inclusive and the food was simply out of this world. I actually just got back from a trip to a sister resort, Azule Beach, equally incredible!

Mixed Review

LivetoTravel246 on Jun 18, 2021

I came to the property for a friends birthday trip and there are about 14 of us all staying at different levels on property. I'm in the hotel industry and work in the corporate office of a major brand, so I know how hard a hotel and staff works to keep guests happy. I really tried to overlook some area's of improvement, but wanted to share my thoughts as I depart on the 19th of June. 1. I agree with other comments the Casita's are nice as I'm in building 15 and a few others are in 14. Best day we had was at the pool at our friends Casita in the 2000 section as it was more private and service here was great.a 2. Yes the weather was not great, but I'm ok with that, my issue is my building and others around kept losing power. I asked around and employees mentioned it happens all the time, so it wasn't 100% weather related. 3. Restaurants are hit or miss. Comments about La Isla food are mixed as two of us had tacos that did not agree with us and I'll leave it at that. 4. Service is mixed as well. There are great employees, but ones who I witnessed multiple times, that's not my job. This mainly came from shuttle service when asking for as ride multiple responses of I'm not going that way. Also when asking for an umbrellas I said unfortunately I don't have one and got the shoulder shrug from concierge. Good thing I brought my own. 5. Upon check in it took about 30 - 45 minutes which is a bit long. Yes it was busy, but you need more than 3 employees at check-in for the volume. 6. We had group dinners at Santa Fe and Kampai. I would say the sushi at Kampai was the only good meal I had all week. All in all it was an ok stay, but I think I would prefer to stay at a major brand where they are trained in brand standards. Not saying brands are perfect, but when you need to get away after the year we've all had, you really want and need a place that has great service and comfort. Unfortunately it didn't happen for me this time.
