Fantastic Family Trip

Christy R (Corvallis, Oregon) on Sep 05, 2021

This was a much needed, fabulous family dive vacation. Our family stayed in rooms 13 and 14, which was an upgrade they gave us as I had planned on the 4 of us being in 1 room. The overwater bungalos were amazing. I spent as much time sitting in a hammock as I did diving. Pete was a fabulous instructor, getting us through our advanced OW cert. John was our dive master and we loved him. He was always calm and kind and was great and finding and photographing creatures, large and small. Our kids are 13 and 15 and they felt safe and at home with him. The food was pretty good and there was plenty. They would always bring more rolls or dessert for the kids, if they asked. Eventually, they didn't have to ask, the wait staff just brought it. The tipping situation is complicated. We ended up just personally tipping the dive masters and boat captain and then leaving general funds for everybody else. Some people were more pushing about making sure you knew their name to write down to give them a good tip but we were just as appreciative of the quieter ones as those more forthcoming. Had we left a reasonable tip for everybody whose name we met, we would have paid half as much in tips than the actual vacation. That felt like too much. This is a good problem to have, though. Such a great vacation.

Excellent dive, snorkel, and adventure resort.

Bryan W (Chattanooga, Tennessee) on Sep 04, 2021

What a great vacation. Great reef diving, excellent snorkeling, and fun excursions like swimming with dolphins and zip line. Delicious food and fantastic service. Love the place. Food and tea included in the packages. Diving you get 3 a day and 2 night dives. A mix of corals and wreck dives.

Wonderful people wonderful diving

bradleesand (Nipomo, California) on Aug 28, 2021

I came to Anthony's Key on my own to get scuba certified before an upcoming trip with my partner and I'm so glad I ended up here. All of the staff were super friendly and helpful. They all speak excellent English. The facilities are top of the line. I felt extremely safe learning and diving for the first time with the instructors, divemasters, and boat captains. This was my first time truly solo traveling (previous solo trips involved visiting people I knew) and I found the staff to be welcoming and the other guests warm and friendly. I would highly recommend anyone visit Anthony's Key whether you dive, want to learn, or just want to get away for a week.

Best Pick for Diver’s

Kibbe-Jean on Aug 28, 2021

Anthony’s Key is a very special place. The setting is so beautiful! Turquoise waters and beach with fine white sand. Perennial Diver’s come from the US. Our 4th time here. Fleet of fine diving boats take us out to dive sites 5-10 minutes away. Marine Sanctuary waters great for seeing green sea turtles, moray eels, all kinds of reef fish. 3 dives a day plus 2 night dives included. The food and lodging are excellent! Great staff, always very personable, and professional. Looking forward to our next visit in 2022.

BEST DIVING EVER

BrittneyJames on Aug 28, 2021

To preface: We DO NOT repeat dive trips. My husband and I want to see the world and don’t make a habit of repeating trips when we could have the opportunity to see something new. Anthony’s Key Resort and Roatan is an exception to our rule. It’s incredible here. The staff is top notch, the accommodations (we suggest the key deluxe room) are amazing. The food never misses and most importantly the diving is fantastic. Our suggestions: Don’t skip the night dives. You are all but guaranteed to see octopus, spotted eels hunting, giant crabs and squid if you’re lucky. Also, the shark dive they offer is so so so cool. They let you free swim with the sharks instead of staying in a circle on the sand. The footage you get from that dive alone is insane. TIPS: The sand nats, no see ums, are intense. Consider bringing legit bug spray. Pre sign up for any spa appointments and the shark dive. You’re going to have an absolute blast! They are building onto the resort now, if you want till 2022, the building will probably be complete and you can see the new restaurant area.
