Best People in the world.

We are just back from a perfect week at the Bahia Luxury Samana and overall it was the nicest hotel we have ever stayed at. The number one reason is the people. In a week there we did not talk to any employee who was not happy and upbeat and did not want to help us above and beyond what we wanted. I am terrible with names but the one persons name I made sure to remember was Luis Alberto from the restarants who was helpful, entertaining and after our first night remembered everyone in our group of 5 when ever he encountered us even when we were not together as a group. The food was very good but the buffets were very repeatative especially the lunch in the Olfa restarant. Another stanout emplyee was the fellow at the grill doing the eggs in the morning. Fast and perfect every time. Unfortantly the resort suffered some hurricane damage in September with the pier destroyed and the beach was striped of a lot of sand to the point that the main stairs in front the pool cannot be used to go to and from the beach due to the giant step down. The rest of the beach is useable from the Beach bar to the far end. Also the main Building appears to have some roof damage at the end oppisite to the lobby. Nothing major but I think a few roomes on the top floor in that area may not be useable. We had a minor issue with our room when the room above us became occupied mid week. When ever our new neighbours up stairs had a shower water leaked out of the light fixture over our bathtub. It wasn't a large amount and stayed in the tub so there was no mess to clean up. It did take conversations with 2 different people before the problem was resolved. That was limit of the problems we had and the rest of our stay was a delight. The only real problem with the resort is that the main road is within 100 to 150 feet of all the rooms not that is paticulary noticable in the room especially if the patio door is open as the waves are very loud from the beach. It is on the beach where the road noise very loud especially from the trucks and motorcycles. The resort is not large in area so no long walks on the property but you will get your exercise as there are stairs everywhere. There are elavators in both buidings but there are areas which cannot be reached without going down stairs such as the pool and the lunch restarant. We will definitley will be returning to this hotel in the future.

Excellent resort but please don’t let people take best spots and never use it

Hanna V on Nov 20, 2022

The resort is perfect. The only thing is the chairs… some people put their towels on the chairs at the pool and go to the beach and buffet etc. Basically they take the best spots and they hardly there and no one controls it at the resort.

Biggest complaint is SMOKING...don't go if your not a smoker. In lobby area behind barThey STILL allow smoking! Most hotels only allow smoking outside. DONT GO IF YOUR NOT A SMOKER. FOOD is good at Don Poblau, Italian not so good. BREAKFAST great but.. BUT SMOKING EVERYWHERE!!!

A true five stars hotel

Nice hotel with an incredible view. We never had a buffet like this one before, it was just perfect. We did not even find one thing we didn't like in that buffet, there are people very talented behind those kitchen doors! The restaurants were very good also, this level of quality (food and service) would have been very expensive back home! Note that you can reserve restaurants 5 days before your stay at the hotel with the bahia principe hotel, we would suggest to try all 3 restaurants. We were at the hotel during hurricane Fiona, it's been very scary but still, the staff were reassuring and they came deliver food to the room while trees were falling! The beach is on the small side but nice sand, no rocks/corals/seaweeds. Respectful animation staff, great drinks, great seatings, great cleaning service. Best staff, best food and best view we had so far, we recommend this hotel.
