Good stay, but a bit dated and they need to step up their game for the prices they charge.

marcoshash256 on Jun 18, 2021

First room I got was really musty smelling and on the 4th floor overlooking a generator. I was pretty shocked that I paid $475 after taxes etc for a room with two double beds that was smelly, dated and viewed ac ducts/generators etc. I called to complain about the room and you relocated me to a room on a higher floor with one king bed. Much better, though to be really honest, I've had far nicer rooms for a lower rate in san francisco. The room overall wasn't bad, though only having one small window made it feel a bit like a cave. Plus there was oddly no extra blanket. The pools were great though, and the real reason we came. I felt like the $18 chicken sandwich poolside that didn't even have a salad was way over priced. I mean it was this very nicely made, but small sandwich on a big paper plate without even a pickle. I mean I know luxury places cost more, but you could put a little more effort (and food) on the plate for $18. Plus, we had to get it and wait for it ourselves, so it's not like we even had a server bring it to us! You guys need to step up your game for these prices.

Wonderful Overnight Stay

Jason L on Jun 17, 2021

We decided to make the trek across the bay to spend one day/night at the Claremont, and it was fantastic. The check-in was quick and easy with the help of Fabiola, who was super helpful. We next went to the pool. This was when we first received assistantance from Paul Berg, who went out of his way to help with getting us an umbrella. We then saw him throughout the evening at Limewood, where he was most gracious with assisting us further. It was an amazing weekend and we look forward to going back soon.

Nice hotel

Theblownranger on Jun 13, 2021

Nice foyer .ok room a bit small for luxury room.all staff very friendly.front desk will give you bottled water.a lot off hotel was closed off due to events and a wedding. Pool is small but crowded pool was closed at 5.30pm and area cleared by six .but I did see one person swimming at 7pm I don't know how.its a nice pool View of San Francisco was partial as palm trees blocked some of the view Some of the wedding party walked around With out masks outside of the wedding room But on Tuesday everyone will be able to go with out a mask.most people at pool did not wear a mask but it's looks like a nice place to have a wedding or event. The USB c charging station near check in desk did not work I presume the iPhone and ordanery USB charger worked.i presume it was USB c charger but none of the lockers worked for my phone.the place is very clean The TV's near the check in desk were on a football loop I see it has direct tv it would be nice to change the channel

A lovely stay

AlinBerkeley (Berkeley) on Jun 08, 2021

The hotel was the perfect local getaway for us as we celebrated my daughter’s birthday. The property is well located, with a view of the bay. The staff was amazing and professional. The only thing that was a bit odd was how crowded the pool was, given the pandemic. Masks were worn inconsistently by visitors. But staff were all masked up.

Pros and cons, expensive for the experience

Thebern01 (Sioux City) on Jun 06, 2021

Stayed here a few times over the years, with mixed results. They did an extensive makeover in past few years, and its a unique hotel. It does cater to locals who aren't guests so concepts like a seat in the hotel bar are difficult, especially with Covid, as they are full with reservations for non guests. Same with pool, which oddly closes early. Tennis and workout are excellent with great staff. Had a bad experience with reservations staff on property, as needed to dump first night well in advance of deadlines, and she tried to jack our rate over $200 per night based on this change, but then backed down quickly, affirming she was just attempting a quick money grab. Also the rooms many of us had, high odd numbers on upper floors, have the crappiest view of the garbage dumpsters. For all the money spent on this place, this view is truly disgusting. I hope they fix it soon, stared at a lot of parking lots in my life, at non luxury hotels, and this topped the worst view ever I think!
