Bel Jou Hotel eptiomizes the quintessential Caribbean experience, tucked away on a verdant mountain in the midst of a tropical utopia. The vantage point from its location provides an outstanding view of Castries and the sparkling Caribbean Sea with the island of Martinique glimmering in the distance. This adults-only scenic oasis offers the warmest of welcomes and the dedication of the long-term staff offering the best in St. Lucian hospitality.
If you want a quiet and relaxing holiday you will not be disappointed if you book the Bel Jou.
We are a family of three who have just returned home having spent an amazing two weeks at the hotel.
I cannot single out any one member of staff as they were all warm, welcoming and nothing was too much trouble.
Everywhere was very clean and the gardens are kept in immaculate condition.
COVID protocols were in place and we felt very safe.
Dean, the manager and his team went to great lengths and put on a brilliant New Years Eve party. It was lovely to see both guests and staff enjoying themselves. It is a night which we will remember and treasure after the past couple of years.
Hopefully we will go back soon.

After weeks of research via trip adviser etc we decided to holiday at the Bel Jou. All in all a pleasant holiday with pro's and cons.
Close to castries via a short shuttle ride supplied free by the hotel. Set in a quiet hillside location. Friendly check in by attentive staff.
2 swimming pools .
Beautiful views over castries.
Good food and drink.
Entertainment was good (only for 1 or 2 weeks)
Friendly helpful staff.
No shop in hotel, reception sold limited items, sun cream was not available for our last week. No fridge in room but you could request 1 but then you had to pay for drinks for your fridge( on your all inclusive holiday!) Including having to pay for water!!
On arrival we asked to change our room we didn't like the room set up (shower in middle of the room) or our view (a hedge) as we were staying for 3 weeks.
At reception they said we could change rooms for 50 us dollars a day but as we had already paid a lot for our holiday we refused to pay. They said they would not then have a room for a few days as they were fully booked could we then come back. Later that day I went back and strangely enough we had a room available which they said was a garden room but a downgrade on what we had, we felt the 1st room was a bit tired but we agreed to this move. The garden room looked to us to be a more pleasant room and less tired . Our only fault was that when I had my 1st shower I noticed old shower gel still on the tiles and the whole shower area to be grubby.
We put our cleaning tab on the door most days but it seemed the shower area was always left. The main bedroom was cleaned much better.
We felt in our 3rd week the service suffered , in the afternoon it seemed impossible to get a table at lulu's the top pool bar and when we did it was usually an hours wait for food. A couple of times we went upstairs but there was hardly any food on display so we had to go back down to lulu's and wait.
Swimming pools looked nice but in 3 weeks I never witnessed 1 person shower before entering which put me off using them (I don't like swimming in sweat and sun lotion
Lovey Gardens but too much Strummer action from the gardener spoiling the peace.
All in a nice place nothing is ever perfect and this was just our experience. We met some lovely people and new years eve was a fantastic night.
