Great Service, Food, and Driver

Marigot Bay resort was beautiful, very relaxing and the food was delicious. The service at Marigot Bay was great. The spa was very nice. I wanted to take a moment to highlight and highly recommend Ronnie our driver from the resort who picked us up at the resort. From the moment we left the airport to the resort we felt taken care of welcomed to the island of St. Lucia and felt like we had a tour guide explaining everything about the island to us in addition to a driver. He made us feel comfortable and our introduction to the island an unforgettable one. He was awesome and we requested him for our drive back from the resort to the airport and it was another 5 star amazing experience as we were leaving St. Lucia.

Stay at Marigot

We had a mixed stay. The property is outdated, specifically the rooms. The rooms are large, but need to be updated and cleaned. The room rate is high and the rooms should represent this. Also, many things in the room were broken and needed fixing one we were already in our room. We must have called the front desk a dozen times over our two night stay. No one ever apologized and a few times they didnt send anyone to fix the problem after saying they would. The most disappointing part of of our stay would have to be our interactions with the staff at the resort. The staff didn't smile and seemed miserable to be working at the hotel. After staying at two other resorts on the island, where the staff was both in short of amazing, it was so disappointing to come to Marigot and experience the opposite. I rarely leave reviews, but I have to say it was a bummer to end our vacation at Marigot Bay.

Vacation in the bay

Started and finished with a great luxury taxi by Lesure Sightseeing by Ronnie Stephen 7587170145 or Personal assistant gave us great recommendations for activities and the pools are wonderful. Our room was a little dated but clean. Favorite day out was a private water taxi to sugar beach by Shashamane. Food at the hurricane hole was good at good value.

Not a 5 star experience AT ALL

I hate writing a bad review but feel I must on this occasion. Given the 5 Star rating and also the price we were so disappointed with this hotel. Arrived late at night due to a delayed flight, however there was very little in way of welcome and room felt unclean when we entered. The next morning no-one enquired or asked if we needed to be shown around and we had no idea of our bearings at all. Room was tired, dated and dark - even though we had the penthouse. Breakfast was often too busy to get a table (had to wait for up to 20 mins!) and food was average all round but expensive. Staff were nice enough but very little attention to detail and a serous lack of personal attention or help - the ‘personal’ concierge service mentioned was non existent and the whole experience was soul-less and without any warmth. We asked on multiple occasions for help with our room, cleaning and updating amenities etc and often this was just not done! Room Service was late afternoon and patchy!! Old sound systems and TV and the dishwasher door actually fell off on our room when we were there! In a specific example of incompetence we had booked Covid tests for 9.15 am and the nurse didn’t arrive till 10am, and the staff didn’t seem to care about a line of 20 people waiting in the sun. The nurse (who was very nice) declared she had no idea people had been booked in for that time. Plus- a massive live cockroach in our room and no water brought every day! We had to ask for help with things daily and often it was just ignored. It’s these things that matter and the lack of care was very obvious- it felt like a money making machine only. This is a 3 star experience at best. Management need to take control and get service and room modernisation prioritised.

Restaurant by the Pool

The food was good but the service was a pantomime of missed order, chef having his lunch and a ridiculous wine bill. It came separately to the food bill. I won't say anything further about the pantomime because the supervisor kindly gave my friend a free main course. But the wine bill! After some searching they managed to find us two bottles of Sauvignon Blanc. Two bottles in our local supermarket would cost EC$46 of what was a fairly cheap wine. Our bill for wine cost EC$416 including tax and service. Disgraceful mark up of our retail purchase price x9. Is this a record?
