Great spot to relax
DWGermany (Dusseldorf, Germany) on Sep 23, 2023
This is a great spot to relax and chill out. The Ressort is offering a lot of choices in restaurants, activities or just a flexing stop at the lake. You should book a lakeside view with a balcony. The service is good but not great. Everything is quite pricy. We had really great weather by end of September and you can take a sunbath.
No value for your money

Just got back from a one night stay with my wife never will we go back almost $800 for one night not even a complimentary coffee or tea in the am but instead $14.00 for a large coffee medium tea and a donut and you can not pay with cash not to mention before we arrived we had planned to go to the Italian restaurant for dinner and we had already decided what we were going have but were told that restaurant was closed for a private function really ? So we ended up eating at the restaurant by the bar what a huge disappointment truly .we love northern Ontario lets just say we will always go north but never again to this hotel no value what so ever

Is there another word for "terrible"?

Is there another word for "terrible"? Review of JW Marriott The Rosseau Muskoka Resort & Spa Reviewed yesterday Well, where do I start? Positive? Nice room, overlooking the lake. Negative? 1. The weeds growing through the cracks throughout our balcony, as well as weeks worth of seagull pooh on the balcony floor... hardly fitting for a hotel that claims to be 4-star, and for which we were paying $839 a night, not including tax. 2. The non-stop "muzak" playing at the main pool area, which went on for 24 hours on our first night and kept us awake most of the night... coma-inducing synthesizer sounds that had us begging for mercy. They finally turned it off when I called the front desk the next night. 3. The $42 striploin steak I ordered at Cottages Restaurant. I ordered it medium... it arrived RAW... not rare, RAW. I sent it back, ordered a different item and was not comped for it. The whole incident ruined our evening. 4. The "local fee" they charge on rooms and meals, that the hotel claims is a "regional tourism fee", but which none of the other hotels in Muskoka have ever heard of (I checked directly with them). It is a straight Marriott upcharge, for no valid reason, which they don't deny. I refused to pay it upon checkout, and they didn't put up any argument. 5. The "resort fee" which they claimed I accepted when we checked-in, but which must have been in the fine print... an extra $50 a day for use of resort facilities, which my partner and I NEVER touched during our four-day stay. Why would they charge a separate fee for use of a paddle board or a kayak? This charge was never pointed out to us at check-in. It's a complete ripoff, but non-negotiable because I had signed my check-in registration!! 6. The restaurant prices, which are almost obscene. The $42 steak, for example, was the equivalent of an $8 cello-wrapped slab from No Frills, but not as thick. $72 for a bottle of wine that retails for $22.95 at the LCBO. In sum, we paid just over $4,000 for a stay that should have cost MAYBE $800. I urge you, dear reader, to avoid this place.
Stunning

Beautiful resort in stunning location. The best hotel in the whole area, The area is just stunning, perfect for enjoying the nature. The resort is excellent for familys getting together, bigger groups or events and definitely a great location for marriage, we meet here regulary with our children and always enjoy it. The stuff is very friendly and makes you feel welcome from beginning on, the restaurants are all recommended, we have had the best steaks in the chop house and the breakfast buffet is one of the nicest I have ever seen in north America. Rooms are lovely, very cozy, We have spent every season here and enjoy both winter and summer times, We can only recommend this beautiful resort and will always come back
