Wonderful week at Seven Stars

momneedsvaca (Lewisberry, Pennsylvania) on Nov 27, 2022

My husband and I recently spent a glorious week at Seven Stars in Turks and Caicos. We had never been to this island before and could not have been happier with our choice. The resort is beautiful - the rooms well appointed - and everything you could want or need was available for the asking. In particular - there were three things that stood out to make this a superior vacation. 1. Customer service. From the moment we arrived until we left, we experienced some of the best service anywhere - ever -(and we are well traveled). The staff is always smiling - always willing to help - always willing to answer any question or provide exceptional service. Even the maintenance staff helped one day by going to find out the Wi-Fi password for me while I was on the beach. 2. Chidley - at The Deck was an amazing bartender. On our first day- he learned that I liked vodka martinis. He made me a perfect martini - and every day after - would come up with a new inventive recipe for vodka martinis for me try. He remembered and greeted us by name - and always made sure we were served promptly. On our last day - he bought me my final martini (mango) - a perfect end to a week of wonderful happy hours!!! 3. Martin (is that the correct name?) the breakfast chef. On Wednesday - there was a platter of scalloped potatoes on the breakfast bar that looked really amazing so I took a scoop. When I tell you - I myself am a very good cook and we eat out a lot - but these were far and away the BEST scalloped potatoes I ever had in my life. They could easily be on the menu at any five restaurant. I asked our server if the chef would share the recipe - and to my surprise - the chef himself came out to talk to me. He explained - step by step - how to make them. I couldn’t thank him enough!! He told me that he would be making the potatoes again on Saturday (our last day) so I would have another chance to enjoy them again. So - sure enough - when we arrived for breakfast on our last day - the hostess told me to wait just a minute at our table - she had something for me. A few minutes later she came out of the kitchen with a WHOLE PAN of scalloped potatoes JUST FOR ME - baked and wrapped and ready to take home. I was completely surprised and overwhelmed with this thoughtfulness. Although I sent along my profuse praise and thanks with the hostess - I regret that I did not get to give that man a hug - and thank him for this amazing act of generosity and kindness. This small act made my vacation more memorable than the blue water and white sand!!!! (And yes, we carried those potatoes all the way back home to Pennsylvania and ate them the following day - and they were still AMAZING. I won’t forget that young man - and love telling people this story of how he went out of his way to share his talents and art with me. Final recommendation- got Turks - stay at Seven Stars and enjoy the scalloped potatoes!!!!

Dinner on the beach!

erichI1979JS on Nov 23, 2022

This was our first time in Turks and Caicos and we came for our honeymoon. We stayed at the Ritz Carlton, however booked a private dinner on the beach at Seven Stars. Nandini was extremely helpful with the reservation and planning of such a romantic evening. We sat around 430pm to view the sunset, had balloons for us, enjoyed a 3 course meal, music, and a bonfire. Our private “butler” was attentive and made this night a special one. Highly recommend contacting Nandini to book a private romantic dinner on the beach.

Amazing Seven Stars

BeeG2001 on Nov 19, 2022

This was our first time in T&C and we chose Seven Stars based on the reviews, and they did NOT disappoint. From check-in to check-out, everyone was welcoming and friendly. We knew we would not be in the room much, so we chose the garden view junior suite which was spacious enough with a kitchenette. Our room was kept clean and supplied with water bottles daily. The location of Seven Stars is perfect; walking distance to shops, restaurants, and the best beach access anyone could ask for. The beach was the most beautiful, swimmable beach I have been to and swam in. Do not hesitate to book. The staff, the grounds, the accommodations were all amazing!!

Outstanding Seven Stars

glscws (Rensselaer, New York) on Nov 14, 2022

This was the first time to the Turks & Caicos and my wife, and I were very pleased with our stay at the Seven Stars Resort. Our stay was a Saturday to Saturday, and we arrived just before Noon on our Saturday arrival day from the Airport. As a side note and will be a separate review, we used Fast Track Car service for $135 each way and we were thrilled with that. Very little wait at the airport which maximized our time on our first day. When you arrive, you are at the lobby/reception area. They bring you rum punches, cold towels, etc.... a nice touch. After they went through some items with us (payment info, etc.) we received our tour of the resort which was nice and pointed out all of the needed items. Since our room wasn't ready, we ended our tour at the Deck and eat lunch which was excellent. When we were done with lunch it was about 130p and we were told our room wouldn't be ready until 3p, but we went to the lobby and our room was ready! They brought our bags up and we had a Junior Suite Oceanfront room which was outstanding! Changed into our bathing suits and down to the beach. Grace Bay is outstanding, and we were so happy with the beach area, chairs, etc. They have beach attendants/waiters which are all excellent (shout out to Ezekeial and Peterson). After a few drinks and some swimming, we went up to our room to settle in and get ready for dinner. The resort is outstanding in our opinion. Breakfast is included every day and is a great buffet with a rotating assortment of selections and an omelet station. We got there just about every day when it opened at 7a, ate breakfast and then went to the beach and the attendants set us up with beach chairs. This was not necessary during our stay as there were ample seats, but it worked for us, and after setting up we went up and changed and then right back to the beach. For breakfast they have travel cups to go to get your coffee to go. While breakfast is included, we tipped the servers/staff every day $12-$15. The bar opens up between 10a-1030a and while drinks are somewhat expensive (12 oz. Coor's lights are $9) service is great as are the drinks. The Rum Punch they serve at the Deck/the Beach is really strong! We ordered a lunch every day to share, and everything was great - Caesar wrap, tuna wrap, Margarita pizza, chicken fingers (from the kid's menu) and coconut shrimp were some of the excellent lunches we ordered. The beach is great, turquois blue and sunny every day no matter what the weather says! We had about 5 minutes of showers/rain on our trip aside from one night where it rained pretty heavy for about 30 min. Beach vendors are few and far between and if you just say no thank you, they are very respectful. A couple of notes about the beach - for some reason Seven Stars seems to group chairs in 4 or 5 but fir us we would find a group of 3 (or 4) and we had them to ourselves all day. Another item to remember is that Grace Bay is a Public beach and there is a public access right next to Seven Stars. While there was plenty of open beach space near the public access a couple of groups decided to set up right in front of the guests at Seven Stars. Most were respectful, one group was not, but after talking to staff at the resort they only can do anything if they use chairs, towels, etc. They were always to the right so if you want to avoid try getting chairs on the left side of the resort beach. Also, the resort "charges" $200 per day in incidentals. If you don't use them, you are not charged, but by doing this everything is basically charged on the resort against the incidentals, which we thought worked great. The resort is close to many great restaurants. We did not eat dinner at Seven (ate breakfast there every day) or the Deck (but eat lunch from there on the beach every day. We did walk to all of our dinners which were - Terrace at Gracy Bay, Castaways, Caicos Cafe, Coco Bistro, Skull Rock Cantina, Caribbean Element and Hemingway's. All of these were excellent, and the farthest walk was Hemingway's which was 15 minutes. We always felt very safe in all of our walks. Most of the stores/gift shops are open from 10a-5p which is tough for those like us who like to spend most of their day at the beach, but we found some great ones (i.e. Caribbean Element, Mama's, etc.) that we went to fairly early in the morning if they opened at 8a or prior to a dinner. The patio on our room was excellent. We sat there every night with wine, cocktails, beer that we got at the Graceway Gourmet market which is very close to the resort. The Ritz-Carlton right next to Seven Stars had fireworks 2 nights during our stay and we could always hear the nightly entertainment at The Deck. At Graceway Gourmet, Coor's Light 10 oz. 6-packs were $18.88, bottles of wine that in the US would be about $15 were $28 and a 375ml of Crown Royal was about $26. All were what we expected and plenty to choose form there (although no hard seltzers but their local Osprey was very good and similar). All staff here were excellent, and we have a fantastic time. We were celebrating our 30th anniversary and my Wife's 60th and Seven Stars gave us a complimentary bottle of wine which was very nice. This was such a special trip we can't wait to come back!

Incredible Experience!

406lorettaa on Nov 13, 2022

My step-daughter and I just returned from a week at Seven Stars in Turks and Caicos. We are both well-seasoned travelers and because this was a "bucket list" vacation for me, our expectations were very high. From the speedy, welcoming reception and check-in to the incredibly luxurious suite, we were very impressed with the well-trained and professional staff. Service throughout the resort is nearly faultless. We stayed in a 1-bdrm suite, ground floor, oceanfront and it was stunning. There is a master-chef kitchen, full laundry room, high-end appliances, canopied bed in an enormous bedroom, luxurious decor, home theatre set-up in the living room and a 35 ft. terrace with seating for 12. We were quite overwhelmed by it all. The resort is immaculate with lush grounds and within a 5-min. walk to local shops, large grocery store and lots of restaurants. Taxis are neither cheap or plentiful in Turks and this location is really central to everything. Tap water is completely safe on the island which makes things super easy. The resort provides refillable glass bottles of water in your suite daily plus there are water filling stations scattered throughout the resort so you always have access to cold, fresh water. Very smart! We really loved that Seven Stars doesn't expect guests to play the "pool chair lottery" so you don't have to save a place at the crack of dawn. They put chair covers and towels on every chair, every morning so you can take your pick. No signing for towels and all that nonsense that is so annoying at other resorts. The beach is the most beautiful we've ever seen - FULL STOP. We've been to Bali, Thailand, nearly every Caribbean island, all of Mexico, Cuba, Azores and the USA. Every postcard or photo you've ever seen of T&C is what it actually looks like. Turquoise waters and white powder sand. We did have some strong currents and rough water for a couple of days due to tropical storm Nicole but otherwise it was calm and peaceful. We took a full day snorkelling excursion which was a bit disappointing. This tour was 19 people on a fairly small boat with NO amenities - including washrooms. The seats were hard, no padding, and there was no way to keep your personal items from getting soaked by the waves spray. The islands we saw were stunning and there were lots of shells (huge conchs!) just laying on the sand. Lunch was a beach bbq but again, none of the 5 beaches we went to had washrooms. As I am partially disabled, getting in and out of the boat was very difficult as they didn't have a platform ladder to make boarding easier. Very challenging and we should have been warned about this before booking. Lesson here is to select your tour operator carefully and ask a lot of questions before you shell out $250 USD per person. As for the food.........the resort includes breakfast and it was excellent. Different dishes every day and foods to accommodate every kind of dietary restriction or preference. We ate at The Deck a few times and had in-suite dining several times. It was always excellent. We booked 2 dinners off the resort. We dined at Indigo at the Wymara resort and it was an unforgettable culinary experience! . The personal welcome by the renowned Executive Chef, Andrew Mirosch was a lovely touch but the star of the evening was the food. It was art on a plate! The lobster was amazing! We also booked dinner at the BLT Steakhouse at the Ritz-Carlton and it was a mixed bag of impressions. The food was absolutely delicious - no complaints there but.......If you compare the Ritz-Carlton to Seven Stars there is a huge difference in the experience, ambiance, vibe and first impressions. The Ritz is a concrete eyesore with absolutely no island charm or character. While the service was sharp, it was cold and not the least bit welcoming. It felt like forced formality rather than warm and friendly. If you enjoy cold, sterile elegance, you'll like the Ritz next door to Seven Stars. If you like more casual elegance and a world class resort, you'll love Seven Stars! We can't find a bad thing to say about the entire experience. Special thanks to Garrick, our Concierge. He's a gem! Also special thanks to Jessica, our tour guide and official greeter. She made everything easy. As for the cost of the vacation - Prices in T&C are not for the faint of heart. Once you accept that everything will be an exorbitant price you just have to relax and enjoy the whole experience. We're already looking forward to our next trip to Seven Stars! TRULY AMAZING! Thanks for making our stay everything we hoped it would be. Loretta and Sheila
