This is the location of Villa del Mar; a small, intimate resort comprising just 42 suites set in lush, tropical landscaped grounds.
Villa del Mar is just steps from the 12 mile strip of sugary fine sand and cerulean blue water known as Grace Bay Beach, internationally recognized as one of the world's top 10 beaches. Villa del Mar integrates indoor and outdoor living with a list of superior features and amenities that pamper you at every turn.
Grace Bay is clearly a very popular place to be in Providenciales and the resort and villa pricing definitely match that. We booked Villa del Mar after looking at a lot of the fancier resort options and thought this would meet our needs and I am pleased to report they were totally met! We stayed a week in a smaller studio room which includes a large sitting room and a kitchenette. The larger rooms have a full kitchen which can be really valuable for a longer stay since the cost of eating out can add up.
The set up is like an outdoor apartment style set up with a large free parking area around the side of the hotel and independent access on the outside (or up stairs or elevators) to your rooms. There is a lovely two pool, hot tub, and cute little tiki bar set up which I think most of the rooms actually face. It was a treat to be able to dash out of your room and hop right in the pool. There is a small independent building that serves as the front desk and office which you use to check in, turn in your breakfast slips, and ask questions, etc.
The rooms were spacious and clean. The cleaning staff did a great job of wiping up after our sandy feet. The beach attendants were helpful at making sure you were taken care of with plenty of towels, water, and drinks to order (and of course setting you up with chairs and umbrellas if you needed something that wasn't set up). I found having a fridge and microwave really handy for snacks and re-heating leftovers. We even discovered they two grills for you to use! Really handy for grilling up some dinner.
Breakfast isn't extensive, but if you don't mind a hot coffee and bagel to start your day you'll do just fine. It also isn't a resort that provides a lot of water equipment (snorkels, paddle board etc.) so you do have to rent those things but it was totally fine since there are so many tour and rental places near by.
Also the location is really lovely! The beach is across the street (wander across the street and follow the Grace Bay hotel path). The grocery store is a 7 minute walk (or 2 minute drive) and many of the trendy/popular restaurants and coffee shops are a 10-15 minute walk (or 5 minute drive) away. You don't even need to rent a car since everything is walkable from here. Renting a car is of course a great option so you can drive around the island and explore things like chalk sound, bight reef, Omar's, and kayaking to Iguana island.
Overall a great place to stay and totally met all of my expectations,

What a great surprise! I booked as a last minute add on to a trip already planned and only did a little research - I usually do much more when visiting somewhere for the first time. The rooms are beautiful and clean. Staff is very friendly. Much lower key than some of the big name resorts, but it’s got everything I need and more and significantly better value. I’ll post some pics of my room.
