Week of February 14-22 2020

Roam319736 (New Westminster, Canada) on Feb 23, 2020

My girlfriend and I were just there. Got back last night. We have been to Cuba many times before this visit to this hotel. We both thought this hotel was a bigger upgrade to what we were use too before. We loved the beach, the resort, our maids and staff in the Buffett in the playa caleta side. We had left tips for the workers who had helped us during our breakfast lunch and dinner and of course our drinks and maids. They were pretty friendly but some of the staff at the front desk wasn’t. Just gotta be careful though, we had a lot of Russians who were pushing us or budging while we were both standing in lineups for the food or the free shuttle bus into town. In the Puntarena building only one elevator worked and in the Playa Caleta building only 2 were working. They also often ran out of plates, glasses and cutlery during busy meal times on the Caleta side. The cafeteria below the buffet serves great pizza, chicken and fries that costs money though. The evening shows were great and we enjoyed the dancers at every show we went to. We didn’t use the pool and opted for the beach but they both looked great and were quite big and never really busy.

Awful place. Stay away.

Old. Rooms are damp. Sheets feel wet. Beach is average. Some staff are friendly. Food is awful. Drinks are awful unless you like straight shots of vodka or rum. The safe in my room didn’t work. Reported it. After my weeks stay, they never fixed it. To many drunk and rude Russians (90%). Would never go back.
