2nd time is the charm

I initially stayed at the Fairmont for my birthday on May 21/21 and to say that it did not go well is sort of an understatement. Even with everything that happened, the service was 5 star and what I am about to explain just proves it. I previously provided a review, which I have now deleted as what Kyla did for me to rectify things is beyond belief. Following my review, Kyla reached out to me directly at my email address and acknowledged what happened. Not for a second did she refute any of what happened. It happened and she just owned it. She then offered me a night at hotel again to give them a chance to show me what the Fairmont experience should be. It was everything I heard and more. I got there just after 3 pm and Julie at the front counter greeted me as warmly as I was the first time. Again, the service is amazing. We chatted, and she welcomed me back and thanked me for giving them a chance to make things right. I said, “It is my birthday mulligan and I am ready to enjoy the night”. So off to my room up on the18th floor. It was amazing. The view out over the city and the river was perfect. So quiet in the room as well. Just perfect. I went into the bathroom to unpack my things and they had put out some candles for me to enjoy my bubble bath as they knew from last time I really wanted a nice long hot bath. This time, I got it. Some where around 6 PM there was a knock at the door and much to my surprise was a beautiful piece of cake with a hilarious message written on the plate, “Happy Mulligan Birthday”. It just made me laugh and smile. Not to mention the cake was fabulous. I then had a lovely night reading peaceful curled up in the super comfy chair snuggled under the blanket the brought me. I order a cheese plate - which is not on the menu, but the made one up for me. So good. The house made lavish was delicious and very fresh. Everything the entire night was amazing. The bed very comfortable, clean crisp linens and very comfortable pillows. In the morning, I was able to enjoy the free breakfast they provided and it was delicious as well. Piping hot and made exactly as I had asked. Not only did I have the most amazing night, Kyla also extended a late checkout to me - which I thoroughly enjoyed. I was able to have yet another bubble bath that was piping hot with my candles, but I could also spend the morning and better part of the day reading and enjoying the beauty of the view from the 18th floor. I want to extend my most sincere thank you to Kyla, Julie and Dawn for taking care of anything and everything I could have ever dreamed of. My wants were easy, a quiet, clean room, a hot bubble bath and great food. You all delivered on every single thing I had hoped for and then you added in things I never even dreamed of. Thank you for making my Mulligan Birthday so special. I will most definitely celebrate with you folks again.

Besides a few minor things - we had a fabulous stay!

The overall experience was great. We were very impressed with the promptness of the staff when we needed something and the accommodations were great. A few minor things - there were multiple pink stains on the duvet cover...almost looked like juice. It didn't bother us so we just ignored it! Upon arrival, we were not told that breakfast ended at a certain time. As we had purchased the couple package, breakfast is included so of course we wanted to order something. I had called the front desk just before 11 (breakfast was done at 10:30), and the woman explained it was over. She called the kitchen and they made an exception for us... it was very yummy :). There is supposed to be a wine opener in our room - there wasn't but upon calling the kitchen they brought one up quickly. The major flaw was we had no hot water. My boyfriend showered when we arrived and he said the water was ice cold... I laughed it off and said he probably didnt turn the knob the right way. When i attempted to shower in the morning, I ran the water for ~8 minutes and it was ice cold. I called the front desk to see if it was normal... they said no and sent up a maintenance man to check it out. He ran the shower for 10 minutes with no improvement with the temperature of the water. He said he was going to manually change something, but then never came back. Luckily, I didn't work until evening so I had time to go home and shower instead. Besides those few minor things, our stay was very lovely. We really enjoyed the package we purchased and all staff members we saw/talked to were very kind. We will definitely be coming back.

Our guests and my husband and I were absolutely blown away by the customer service, professionalism, work ethic and food for our wedding at the Fairmont. We have been getting such positive feedback about the whole experience from our guests. One guest even said "this is the best food I’ve ever been served at a wedding." I would give the Fairmont 5,000 stars if I could. I would recommend having your big day at the Fairmont to all my friends and family. Special thanks to Eric Schon for working with me throughout the whole planning process, and to all Fairmont staff for making my wedding so special and for treating us with utmost care throughout the whole process.

What a terrific experience!

My husband and I recently stayed overnight at the Fairmont Hotel, located in the heart of downtown Winnipeg at the corner of Portage & Main. It was hubby’s birthday & we also want to get out of the house after a year of staying home due to covid restrictions. Plus the swimming pool on the top floor was open to guests! We were really looking forward to it! Every one of the staff members went over and beyond to serve us & make our visit delightful - from the friendly and helpful front desk staff of Nick & Bea to Darlene in the lounge efficiently and happily serving us supper & drinks to Aryanne delivering a surprise slice of birthday cake to my husband in our room and then later helping me get my luggage & various bags into the car. The guest room was spacious, clean and had a nice view of a portion of the historic Exchange district. Bedding was nice too, not itchy on my sensitive skin. The supper we had in the lounge was delicious! It was an incredible outing for me & my husband and we had such a fun & relaxing time. Great memories! Thank you Fairmont staff!!

Filthy room.

It’s my first time to stay in Fairmont Winnipeg.Filthy carpet, the accent chair upholstery is old, dirty and torn and really needs replacement.One of the pillows provided stinks and smells like sweat.The pancakes were terrible, change your maple syrup supplier. It’s not even pure maple syrup,it’s so watery.Considering this is Canada be ashamed of the watery malpe syrup you serve. I had to turn off our room heater because it’s so loud, even if you turn off the fan, it still makes the loud, continuous sound. If only there’s another ALL accor hotel in Winnipeg I won’t stay here again.
