A WestJet Group High Impact Leader is someone who builds trust, is committed to the development of their team, exhibits adaptability, stands accountable, drives change and consistently challenges the status quo. This year’s winner is Aaron Baldwin, WestJet, Senior Manager, Station Support at Calgary International Airport.

Aaron is a long term WestJetter, who started his career at WestJet in 2006 and since has maintained a strong sense and intuition of always doing what is right. According to his team, his ability to instill confidence in those he leads to rise to new challenges and achieve their goals, while never losing sight of important business milestones, embodies what it means to be a high impact leader.

We sat down with Aaron to ask him a few questions about WestJet and what being the High Impact Leader Award winner means to him:

What is one thing you want to share with our guests?

Even if your journey isn’t going as planned, there is always a team of WestJetters working in the background who truly care about getting you where you need to go.  I’ve never seen anything different throughout my 15 years as a WestJetter.

What are you most looking forward to in the next year?

I am looking forward to continuing to grow and recover, getting even closer to the goals we want to reach over the next five years.  The world won’t ever be the same after the pandemic, but I do feel WestJet has placed itself in a good position to not just recover but come back even stronger than before.
