WestJet welcomes Melissa LaForge to the WestJet Group as Vice-President, Controller
WestJet announced that Melissa LaForge will be joining WestJet, as Vice-President Controller. Reporting to Executive Vice-President, Finance and Chief Financial Officer, Harry Taylor, Melissa will lead the WestJet Group’s Accounting, Internal Controls and Financial Reporting teams as well as contribute to the execution of the Group’s strategic plan and growth agenda.
“We are thrilled to welcome Melissa to the WestJet Finance team,” said Harry Taylor. “Melissa is an accomplished and resilient leader with a history of driving change. We are looking forward to having Melissa on our team as we lead the recovery of Canadian airlines and grow larger and more profitable than we were pre-pandemic.”
Melissa is joining WestJet after eight years with Enbridge Inc., where she held senior leadership roles in investment review/capital allocation, enterprise financial planning and analysis, investor relations, and accounting research. Prior to joining Enbridge, Melissa practiced public accounting with Deloitte in Canada and the United States.
“I am extremely excited to be joining WestJet at this pivotal time and I’m greatly looking forward to contributing to the WestJet Group’s recovery and expansion,” said Melissa when asked to comment on her appointment.
As Vice-President, Controller, Melissa will lead the re-building of the Accounting, Internal Controls and Financial Reporting teams including leveraging technology and systems as well as process improvement to enhance efficiency and controls as the WestJet Group grows and expands.
