Weston’s Wish for WestJet’s Christmas Miracle

This holiday season while we were out making our guests’ travel wishes come true, we also teamed up with our WestJet Cares for Kids partner Make-A-Wish® Canada to grant a life-changing wish for one special young man.

In 2017 at the age of three Weston was diagnosed with leukemia. For the next three years he underwent intensive chemotherapy, finishing treatment in November of 2020. Due to his weakened immune system, Weston and his family were required to isolate throughout his treatment. Just when the world was opening up to them again COVID-19 hit.

While the pandemic has certainly taken a toll on everyone’s lives, one particular group that has been especially impacted are children bravely facing critical illnesses. More than a thousand Make-A-Wish kids had their wishes to travel placed on hold as a result of COIVD-related restrictions.

We are beyond thrilled that the future is looking bright again, and that domestic travel wishes are going to be fulfilled in the coming year, including Weston’s. Watch Weston’s reaction as his wish is granted in this special edition WestJet Christmas Miracle video.

We are excited to welcome Weston and his family onboard as we fulfill his wish, and look forward to helping grant hundreds of other deserving wish kids’ travel wishes in the years ahead.

Wishes really do come true.

Merry Christmas!
