Pre-pay bags and save

When travelling, guests are encouraged to always pre-pay for their first and second checked bags to save money and time at the airport. Guests can utilize the Manage Trips section in the WestJet app and on westjet.com to pre-pay for baggage fees before the 24-hour check-in window. Guests are encouraged to pre-pay for their first and second bags, as baggage fees increase within 24 hours of departure.

Changes to checked bag fees when checking-in with an airport agent

Effective January 17, 2023, first, second and excess bags paid via an airport agent, will be an additional $10. This fee will not apply to guests with bookings that are inhibited from self-serve check-in.
