On August 17, 2022, at 3:53 pm MST, a technical issue was identified that impacted guest profiles on westjet.com and the WestJet App. The issue was resolved at 4:27 pm MST and the impact was limited only to guest profiles logged in during this time. We take the privacy of our guests extremely seriously, and we sincerely apologize to those impacted.
Upon initial investigation, it was identified that less than 0.05 per cent of total user profiles were impacted. This technical issue was a result of an internal technology change that our teams worked quickly to resolve. We can confirm that information such as passwords, credit card numbers and passport numbers were not exposed.
With the issue resolved, we are working through a full investigation and will take appropriate follow up actions as required, including contacting impacted guests.
