WestJet Chief Executive Officer, Alexis von Hoensbroech today visited Victoria, B.C. to discuss the important role the region has in WestJet’s ambitious growth strategy for Western Canada. Joined by Greater Victoria Chamber CEO, Bruce Williams, today’s executive visit focused on engaging with local partners and community stakeholders to discuss WestJet’s longstanding investments in the region and exciting future ahead as WestJet’s new strategic direction takes flight.

“For 27 years, WestJet has been part of the fabric of Vancouver Island’s visitor economy and as the number one WestJet carrier serving the Greater Victoria Region today, we remain incredibly proud of our legacy of serving the community,” shares Alexis von Hoensbroech, Chief Executive Officer, the WestJet Group. “Hearing what matters most from Victoria-based business leaders, local partners and government stakeholders is a vital aspect of our new ambitious growth strategy to ensure that the WestJet Group continues to meet the demands of the community and supports tourism to the area for years to come.”

This summer, WestJet’s total seat capacity to the Island will be 30 per cent higher when compared to 2022. “Destination Greater Victoria will be a reliable and effective partner in rebuilding capacity, with a particular emphasis on vital transborder city pairs,” says Destination Greater Victoria CEO, Paul Nursey.
