October in Canada isn’t just about cozy sweaters and pumpkin spice, it’s also a powerful time to come together for Breast Cancer Awareness Month. It’s a chance to learn, reflect, advocate, and raise funds for the thousands of Canadians affected by breast cancer. And in 2025, WestJet proudly joined forces with the Canadian Cancer Society to do just that, with heart, hustle, and a whole lot of pink. From lacing up for the CIBC Run for the Cure to rocking pink accessories from the WestJet Store, our teams rallied across the country to raise awareness and funds for life-changing breast cancer research and support programs, raising a whopping $57,610 raised in 2025 alone! Since first partnering with the Canadian Cancer Society in 2013, WestJet has raised an incredible $836,051 through CIBC Run for the Cure participation and the collection of our custom pink cause pieces. In addition, WestJet provides the gift of flight to support fundraising efforts and help ensure more dollars go directly to the cause. Over the course of the 12-year partnership, WestJet has remained steadfast in its commitment to educate, inform and empower employees from across the country, working together to raise awareness and funds for breast cancer research. CIBC Run for the Cure: Running with heart In 2025, 359 WestJet Group employees hit the pavement in six cities across Canada, joining thousands of others in the CIBC Run for the Cure raising awareness and funds for breast cancer research. Donning their pink ribbons, T-shirts and scarves, our teams raised an impressive $44,712 to support the Canadian Cancer Society. This marked WestJet’s 13th year participating in the Run, and the energy, spirit, and community support were stronger than ever. Pink Cause Pieces sold at the WestJet Store This year, the WestJet Store went all in for breast Cancer Awareness month, offering Pink Cause items like baseball caps, badge reels, lapel pins, socks, aprons, scarves and ties. Whether online or in-store, employees and guests could shop with purpose — knowing all proceeds went straight to the Canadian Cancer Society. This year, the WestJet Store raised $12,898 through the sale of 1,046 Pink Cause items. Uniformed WestJetters including pilots, cabin crew and airport employees as well as service partners were encouraged to add a touch of pink to their uniforms in October as a simple, but powerful way to show support and raise awareness and funds for breast cancer research.
