WestJet marked a major operational achievement over the September long weekend, setting multiple records across its global network. Between Friday, August 29 and Monday, September 1, the airline carried more than 310,000 guests, servicing a record number of destinations worldwide. Operational performance remained strong throughout the busy travel weekend, with the airline reporting a flight completion factor of 98.8 per cent and an average on-time performance (A15) of 77.8 per cent across all flights.“ These milestones underscore our continued focus on reliability, efficiency, and guest experience as demand for air travel remains high heading into the fall travel season,” said Safa Yamach, Vice-President of Operational Performance and Integrated Planning. “These results could not have been achieved without the exceptional service and hospitality provided by our frontline teams.” As the peak-summer travel period comes to a close, WestJet is proud to celebrate the resilience and strength of its operations throughout the summer, which included three record-breaking long weekends. With a focus on delivering a friendly, positive guest experience, WestJet flew to a record-number of destinations during the final long weekend of the summer, further reinforcing the airline’s commitment to meeting the needs of its guests by connecting them with the people and places they want to visit most. Looking beyond the summer, WestJet remains focused on driving significant improvements in its on-time performance and the reliability of its operations throughout the upcoming months, as it shifts its focus towards sun destinations ahead of the winter travel period.
