WestJet celebrates July long weekend operational success

With the peak summer travel period in full swing, WestJet is excited to celebrate a very successful July long weekend, which included a record number of passengers carried across the extended long weekend travel period. This summer, WestJet maintains its commitment to connecting Canadians with the people and places they love most. Between Friday, June 27 and Tuesday, July 1, WestJet carried a total of 350,000 guests.

“This weekend’s success would not have been possible without the exemplary teams across our business who worked hard throughout the long weekend to safely transport all our guests,” said Diederik Pen, President of WestJet Airlines and Group Chief Operating Officer. “I want to particularly thank all of our front-line teams that welcome our guests with the warm WestJet hospitality and ensure the reliable and safe operation of our airline.”

Reporting a completion factor of 98.7 per cent and an A15 on-time performance of 72.1 per cent of all flights throughout the July long weekend, WestJet continues to demonstrate the strength and resilience of its operation to support the travel plans of its guests.
