WestJet is celebrating sustained momentum in operational excellence, ranking as the most on-time airline in North America for the month of August, according to the latest Cirium On-Time Performance Report. The achievement marks another strong showing for WestJet, reinforcing the airline’s continued operational reliability and its commitment to delivering a more dependable travel experience for guests.

“Being recognized as the most on-time airline in North America is a tremendous achievement and a reflection of the focus and discipline demonstrated by WestJetters across our business,” said Safa Yamach, WestJet Vice-President, Operations Planning & Performance. “Our guests count on us to get them where they need to go, when they need to get there, and these results show that the work happening across our operation is making a meaningful difference. While there is always more work to do, we’re proud of the progress our people are making every day to build a stronger and more resilient airline.”

WestJet operated approximately 19,652 flights in August, with 82.55 per cent arriving on time, ranking first among major North American carriers and more than three percentage points ahead of the next highest-ranked airline.

The August results build on WestJet’s strong operational performance throughout the summer, establishing four consecutive months of industry leading on-time performance. The airline’s continued focus on operational stability, process improvements, fleet reliability and cross-functional collaboration is helping create a more predictable experience for guests while supporting WestJetters in safely and efficiently delivering the airline’s operation.

WestJet also ranked fifth among all major global airlines, reaching a top-five spot for the first time through one of the busiest travel periods in the industry.

The latest recognition from Cirium reflects the collective effort of WestJetters across the airline, from flight crews and maintenance teams to airport, network, customer service and operations teams working together to keep guests moving safely and on time.
