A Wish Takes Flight: WestJet and Make-A-Wish® Canada Make a Dream Come True
On July 20, 12-year-old Landon from Edmonton was welcomed aboard alongside his family, beginning a special journey to Toronto. His wish was simple but unforgettable: to watch his very first Toronto Blue Jays game in person.
“For nearly two decades, WestJet has been an incredible partner in helping us bring life-changing wishes to children and families across Canada,” said Meaghan Stovel McKnight, Chief Executive Officer, Make-A-Wish Canada. “We know that Wishes Are Medicine. They bring hope, joy and renewed strength to children facing critical illness and their families. For Landon, attending his first Blue Jays game was much more than a wish come true. It was a chance to leave medical challenges behind for a day, create lasting memories with his family and experience the simply of joy of being a kid. We are deeply grateful to WestJet for helping make moments like this possible.”
Landon's day was filled with memorable experiences and ended with him cheering on Canada’s team from the stands during his first-ever baseball game.
"We're proud to support Make-A-Wish Canada and help create moments that matter for children with critical illnesses," said April Crane, Vice President, Communications and Engagement. "Children facing difficult circumstances deserve the chance to simply be kids, whatever that means to them. Being able to play a small role in making that happen is incredibly meaningful to us."
Through the power of partnership and kindness, WestJet and Make-A-Wish Canada helped make Landon’s wish come true, creating moments of joy, connection, and lasting memories.
