WestJet ranks first for on-time performance among North American carriers for fifth consecutive month
WestJet has been named the most on-time airline in North America, for the fifth consecutive month, according to the latest Cirium On-Time Performance Report. This recognition underscores the airline’s continued focus on operational reliability and the dedication of WestJetters across its network to delivering a dependable travel experience for guests.
“This achievement would not be possible without the incredible dedication of WestJetters across our network, from flight crews and maintenance teams to airport, network, customer service and operations teams” said Diederik Pen, President, WestJet Airlines & Chief Operating Officer, WestJet Group. “Maintaining this performance for five consecutive months, particularly through the peak summer travel season, is a testament to the care, teamwork and operational excellence our people bring to work every day.”
In September, WestJet operated approximately 17,390 flights, with 85.31 per cent arriving on time. The airline ranked first among major North American carriers, finishing nearly three percentage points ahead of the next highest-ranked airline.
“Our guests count on us to get them where they need to go safely and reliably, and while we know there is always more to do and head into our busy winter season, we are proud of the progress we are making to deliver an even more dependable travel experience,” adds Pen.
The achievement reflects WestJet’s ongoing commitment to operational reliability and the collective hard work of WestJetters across the airline and a collaboration and dedication help deliver a more consistent travel experience for guests.
