    Second Visit

This was our second visit to the resort. We first came two years ago for our honeymoon, and as soon as we left we knew we wanted to come back. This time around, we booked a swim-up suite in the Excellence Club, which ended up being a great decision since we wanted something that was close to the center of the action (main pool, bar and beach), but also something with a view. After spending most of our days soaking in the pool or basking in the sun at the beach, we liked to end our days with a quick dip in the swim-up area right outside our room, as well as a little time in the hot tub which was also right outside our door. It was also nice to be able to walk right outside our room in the morning and jump right in the pool to start the day. Overall, choosing the swim-up suite was the biggest change we chose to make after our first visit, and we were definitely glad we did. We were pleasantly surprised that very little had changed since our first visit. Knowing what to expect, we made full use of the spa treatments and other perks that went along with our anniversary reservation. We were going for more of a relaxing vacation with a slower pace, so although there is always something to do at the resort, most of our time and energy was focused on the pool, the beach, and the restaurants. We were welcomed by Victor as soon as we checked in, and Julio made sure our bags got to our room so we had time to enjoy the familiar sights and sounds of the main entrance building where most of the indoor action is. Our room was perfect, with a view that included trees and a glimpse of the water. We were on the ground floor on the corner of our building, so there was a lot of foot traffic outside our door. But, for the most part, we didn’t spend a lot of time in our room during the day when people were out and about. One of our favorite things about staying in the Excellence Club is getting help from the concierge service. Marco and Victor helped us plan out our days to make sure we made good use of all the perks and amenities we wanted to prioritize. But our absolute favorite part about staying in the Excellence Club was the availability of the beach beds on the private beach. The staff there was excellent. Dameon, Sean and Angel were always there to welcome us at the cabana and had a fresh towels and waters ready. Carlos, Melissa, and Alex provided outstanding service and took great care of us any time we wanted a drink or something to snack on. We remembered Carlos from our first visit two years prior, and it was great to see him again. He went out of his way to make sure we had a great time whenever we hung out on the beach. The main pool is literally our favorite pool ever. It’s the perfect level to float around in, with plenty of area around the outside to set a beverage. The aqua bar in the center was our second favorite spot to order a drink. Shoutout to Paul for taking good care of us and handling a wide variety of cocktail requests. Besides the room and the outdoor amenities, one of our other favorite things about the resort are the restaurants. Our favorite places from our first visit were Shoji, the Asian cuisine restaurant, and Brass, the steakhouse. Andres, one of the waiters at Brass, was also a familiar face from our first visit, and his service was excellent. We tried Lizo, the Mexican-themed restaurant for the first time this time around, and were very impressed by the quality of the food, especially the tres leches cake for dessert. We were even serenaded by a live traditional Mexican band. Food is an underrated part of a vacation like this, and when traveling in a foreign country it can be hard to know what to expect. But we’ve been impressed by most places at this resort, and looked forward to our return visit just to experience some of those restaurants again. Huge shoutout to Lorenzo, David, Darwin, Lazaro, and Salatiel for their excellent service at all of the great restaurants we enjoyed during our stay. But besides the amenities, the food, and the people, we’d recommend this resort for the opportunities guests have to just have fun. During our first visit, we explored Isla Mujeres. That was fun, but on this trip, we wanted to spend our entire time on the resort. One of the entertainment options we loved that we’d absolutely recommend is a private tasting session with one of the bartenders. We enjoyed a Mojito tasting during our first visit, and we knew we wanted to do that again. But this time, we also signed up for a coffee tasting. Octavio, one of the bar tenders, led both tasting sessions and did a fantastic job. Not only did we get to enjoy a variety of coffees we probably wouldn’t have ever ordered, but we learned a thing or two. The Mojito tasting was a few days later was even better. We told Octavio that we’d had a tasting before, so he made sure to mix us up a variety of Mojito that we’d never had before, including one that he served inside a coconut. Overall, this was one of our favorite parts of the vacation. We would absolutely recommend the Finest Playa Mujeres to anyone looking for an all-inclusive vacation with enough variety to make a week-long resort stay interesting but also relaxing. The people there are excellent, the food is great, and the environment is beautiful. P.S. - we didn’t get to spend enough time with Manuel, our favorite bartender from our first visit (who we were both happy to see was still there, working the same bar we met him at last time). Good to see you, Manuel!

Beautiful place, with outstanding food and plenty of family activities to please multi generational families. The majority of the staff are outstanding and committed to offer a great experience to the tourists. Avoid the scammers at the airport wanting to sell time shares. Continue and get a cab or a van don't be afraid. There is a monopoly of the taxis don't buy the return trip to the airport for two days in a row we witnessed that the people were expecting to be picked and they did not show. Pay the trip to the hotel and then from the hotel you buy the return to the airport. It is important to avoid the drama of the time share. It is a great place, good food, clean, good service.

This was our 4th trip to this resort. The Finest staff always go out of their way to make your stay a wonderful experience. The resort is kept immaculate and the resort grounds are like a Mayan paradise. There is a great selection of restaurants to include Steak, Seafood, French, Italian, Mexican, Oriental, and many more. There are also Theme Nights where the hotel patio is decorated to the 9's and the buffet food at these theme nights is top-notch. The resort has a Sports Bar to watch all sorts of sports teams and a Coffee House to order your favorite latte and has some delicious pastries/ice cream. The nightly entertainment is also very fun and includes great bands and shows. The beach area is wonderful with hotel staff bringing you any drink of your choosing. You can even order food to be brought to the beach if you don't feel like leaving the beach for lunch. Resort rooms are excellent. Very spacious with comfortable beds/furniture and an oversized hot tub to soak in. The bathrooms are huge and the shower area is fantastic. Housekeeping comes in 2x a day to make up the room and turn down your bed. The rooms are well stocked with liquor, beer, wine, snacks and restocked daily. Room Service is available 24x7. If you want to go and relax and never have to leave the resort, you will not be disappointed with the Finest Playa Mujeres.

Great Resort but Imperial Suite Not Worth The Price

We just returned from a 4 night stay at the Finest Playa Mujeres. We booked the Imperial Suite. The entire resort was beautiful and very clean. The food was delicious for the most part (especially dinner). We dined at La Petite Plasar (adults only, French), Brass (steak house) and Lizo (Mexican). All three were excellent. The other night we had dinner at the buffet. It was good for a buffet. Lunch was usually the beach front restaurant, which has a daily special, as well as a buffet of assorted dishes/salads and a grill and a pizza oven. The best part of the resort though has to be the staff. They were excellent, especially the team at the "Finest" beach: Diego, Daniel, Noel and everyone else. I wish I could all remember their names. We brought our 5 year old with us and he loved the Kids Club. Kimberly was wonderful with him. Overall we had an excellent time. The only draw back was that the Imperial Suite, which comes with a lot of extra "perks" really wasn't worth the added price. Perhaps if we had received those perks it would have been worth it, but we didn't. The butler, Victor, was wonderful when he was there, but he was off 3 days out of the 5 we were there. Nobody is assigned to take over his responsibilities when he is off, which meant we did not receive all of the extras that we paid for. We will definitely consider returning to the Finest Playa Mujeres in the future, but we won't spend the extra money for the Imperial Suite.
