Resort was clean and nice , gas shortage so grass/weeds were out of control. Food was the worst we have had in over 9 visits to Cuba. Service on the weekend was poor, we were ignored if there was any Cuban visitor wanting service.

This was our 3rd time to Club Amigo Atlantico Guardalavaca. 11 days for a more relaxing time than 1 week. There have been some improvements and remodeling that was much appreciated. The Villa room was good with a balcony with a small view of the ocean thru the palm trees. The half lobster was delicious and the a-la-cartes good. Most of our time was spent at the 24hr snack bar. You get used to the hamburgers made with ham. If you go to the resorts in Mexico for the buffets, you won't be happy here. Money changing has to be done at the exchange at the SW corner of the resort. Talking to the staff personally - "Where is your house? How old are your kids?" is a lot more effective than tips, and more enjoyable to get greeted with a hand clasp when you approach the bar. Drinking rum properly is also appreciated - añejo straight. But they do need things. If you go to the "supermarket" across from the handicraft market at the south edge of the resort you can see how little there is. Soap, toothpaste, nail clippers, etc would be much appreciated, especially by those who are not maids and bartenders. They haven't seen chicken in ages. Rather than the tour company excursions, we took the funny little train to the farmer's house and the Indian village. The one to Boca de Sama is only on Fridays now. Lots of fun at the beach party in the pirate cove on Monday nights - but the foam machine was broken, as is the steam train that is advertised. We visited a carriage driver's home and had one night at a B&B on the beach at the end of the road that goes past Brisas. Yuri from cubaguider.com took us to deliver donated medical supplies. The disco is an experience. The dentist at the clinic at the south edge of the resort cleaned our teeth.

Hotel is okay with a lovely and beautiful beach. Staff Desk Front horrible, waiting for hours to do my check-in and not with the best treatment. Restaurant Staff they are nice and always trying to make feel happy all the customers even If the food isn’t good at all. Drinks terrible, food terrible, rooms are okay only the villa’s because the standard rooms at the main building are disgusting. No recommend this hotel. Sorry!!! I need to be sincere!

This resort is super beautiful amazing beach that was kept clean all the time really friendly staff and lots of things to do for the younger crowd and older crowd even a section for kids. One person in particular made my vacation amazing (guy in middle of picture) his name was Lester. Lester made everyday in Cuba fun and inviting he is one of the entertainers at the resort. He helped us with information about the resort and Cuba anything you wanted to know Lester was there to help I would highly recommend going to this resort if you want to stay in a cheaper budget range the food was great and the people there were even better.

    Go enjoy yourself!.... it’s awesome!

Just returned from our first trip to Club Amigo, I’m going to start by saying that I was pretty concerned because after we booked it, I read some pretty horrifying reviews... people said “ filthy rooms, horrible resort!... turn around ! Don’t go!... people warned we would be robbed and would not be served drinks because horrible people will push us out of the way!.... and ... Dear God... there is just NO food!... we’re all starving!.... we’re all gonna die without pasta!...... Let me just say, we were treated with kindness and respect right from the start, The resort is lovely!... yes it’s a little worn... but did you see the beach? The grounds? Our rooms ( villas ) were PERFECT!... our maids kept everything spotless! The staff.... lovely, kind and attentive, we were very near the 24 hour bar, and everyone there quickly learned our favorite drinks and food choices, greeted us with warm smiles and hugs and great service. Pirate bar is so cool!... one of my favorite mornings was spent having a lovely conversation with life guard “Carlos”... such a warm, kind man ?? And the pool bar, where we met SO many fun, happy people!! ... we laughed and drank with great people from many different places... no one got treated badly or “ beat up by Russians” as some of these reviews would have you believe.... And the pool bar tenders are amazing... Alex makes a great “ blue sky” with a smile , and his fellow bar tender ( who’s name escapes me...sorry) went WAY out of his way to bring my husband and I beer just to surprise us!... great guy! We loved our excursion “ paradise bay” catamaran, safari, snorkeling and island/ beach exploring!... so much fun! My favorite day was when we met “ Tito” who is out side the lobby on tuesdays and fridays to offer horse back exploring!... omg!... we rode through the village, a tropical forest, climbed to some caves!... it was an amazing adventure! Last but not least... we ate well every single day, between the buffet and snack bar we found adequate food anytime we wanted it, the fish at the buffet was great!... lots of vegetables, fruit and bread always!... the breakfasts were great everywhere!... Benny Moor, the 24 bar or buffet.... great breakfasts!... look, it wasn’t gourmet, but it was good food and it was nutritious.... ( the beef soup in the buffet last Saturday night WAS the best I ever had!)..... We and our friends had a lovely, happy fun vacation at Club Amigo, please don’t take all of these bad reviews to heart, people get very worked up about things that really aren’t a big deal, go and see for yourself, you’ll be glad you did?? In closing... if you feel like your not being treated with respect and kindness by the staff and servers.... perhaps you just need to show them the same.
