    We are yet to check-in after specifically writing in advance and getting confirmation on an early check in request. We also have American Express Platinum, the best benefits for which (room upgrade and early check-in) were flat denied by the hotel. We have a large booking with multiple rooms and we are left waitinf in the lobby for the past 3 hours with no news of our room, despite multiple requests. Kids are restless and sleepy. This is not the start to a celebration vacation we were all looking forward to. Regarding the upgrade benefit, we were told by the front desk that Hyatt members Platinum and above are more important and given preference, and that's why we're not able to get the upgrade due to us. This may be true but I was appalled at how bluntly it was put accross with zero tact and poor service attitude. We also requested an early packed breakfast because our tour starts at 6.30am one morning..this was also denied. I expected more from one of the most expensive hotels in Maui.

    took family of 4 and stayed at Andaz. beautiful hotel with great service. probably better with older kids (middle-school aged and up) as there are other resorts that cater to younger folks, but if you like a sophistocated feel with modern design elements, this is a great option.

    Stayed here for honeymoon - blown away, even after reading all the reviews on the site. The customer service, friendliness of staff, cleanliness, beautiful secluded beach, amazing pools all added up to a great honeymoon. Thank you Andaz for blowing us away!!

    Fantastic place for all kind of travel types

    Went there with our family and was afraid that it was to stylish and chic for our smallest but perfect for all kind of needs with many different pool areas. Great gear to borrow at the beach and amazing breakfast.

    Great property with some flaws

    First off this is a beautiful resort in a wonderful location. I would definitely come back to this property for that fact alone. But, they definitely do not go above and beyond for you. This was our 10 year wedding anniversary and my husband is a lifetime globalist with Hyatt and it was not even recognized one time by doing anything special for us at the resort. We were actually at the resort on the day of our actual anniversary, and nothing! It was noted in our reservation about our anniversary and also when we arrived we were sure to let them know. My husband received what we consider to be a bit of an arrogant email from a manager before arrival saying that we were there to celebrate our early anniversary. When he then responded, no we will actually be there on the day. Also they advertise this as a family friendly property with a kids club. The kids club was closed every day we were there. We actually had to make a reservation with the concierge for our daughter to go there one afternoon because we had booked a couples massage. Our daughter did have a great time with the activity team while in there. It just stinks that they don’t promote the kids club and try to do better with activities on the daily. The resort is filled with kids. I’m sure a lot of them would love a fun place to go when it’s raining, or have had to much sun, etc. The kids club right down the street at the Four Seasons is fantastic! So is the Grand Hyatt Kauai kids club. The service at the property is hit or miss. Some days we had really good service and others not so much. We had to wait over 20 minutes to check in, once we arrived at the property. And no one else was there being checked in. So that wasn’t the problem. We were just sitting there waiting like they asked and eventually my husband had to go ask for someone to check us in. And it was after 5pm, so it wasn’t like we were trying to check in early. The restaurants on property were very good. We were very happy with the food and drink options available. We also did the onsite luau which was fantastic. The spa was also really great. We were very happy with the service there. I guess it’s just disappointing that this property could be really amazing but, it definitely fell short in a lot of areas. And even though my husband is lifetime globalist we still paid full price for everything, as points are rarely available at this property. When you’re spending thousands of dollars on cabanas, food and beverage, room, etc. I just expect a little better treatment. Make your guests feel special.
