Gorgeous Resort, Located

Yes, the hotel is currently under construction; no, it did not bother us a bit, but we were in a tower that was not close to the area being worked on! There is a rather unsightly wall in place during the construction near one of the pool areas, but not to fear-- there are several pools on the property, and they tried to liven up the plain white drywall by having a very nice local artist paint pictures of whales and other sea life onto it. I liked to see that they were making efforts, but I did feel bad for those who had gotten rooms nearer to the construction area! The property itself is just gorgeous-- waterfalls, palm trees, live flamingos, several pools and no shortage of beach chairs to lounge in! However, there are almost no chairs with any sort of shade that were "free" (there were seats that you could rent that did have shade; I do not know the price of these). There is direct beachfront access (though all beaches are public in Maui) and the hotel is located right next to Whalers Village, an upscale outdoors shopping plaza. There is also a free shuttle that goes to and from several areas of interest-- shopping centers and downtown Lahaina. The room had a beautiful view of the beach and property with a comfy bed and a badass balcony. My only complaint with the room was that there was no way to use the sink at night without illuminating the entire room (there is no wall between the sink area and the sleeping area, only a mirror).
great service , very expensive for whats going on at the moment

we had stayed here before about 15 years ago and it was a stunning resort, but the construction going on now is very loud, there are temporary plywood walls up everywhere to hide the construction but it also blocks the beautiful views of the ocean. the service and staff were amazing, the rooms were great but the resort looked a little dingy, carpet in the hallway was wrinkle and frayed etc. the $30 a day to park and the $30 a day "resort fee" were a bit much i thought . but overall we had a great time ,

Our family cannot say enough good about the amazing service we received. The staff went above and beyond to make sure our vacation was fabulous. We were contacted a week ahead of time by Concierge Ben who met us after we arrived. We were traveling with a 10 week old granddaughter and Ben made sure we had adjoining rooms with our Executive Suite and it was perfect. Nika at the front desk was able to accommodate our late check out for one of the rooms and that was a game changer especially as we had the baby with us. Thank you Nika. My husband also wants to thank the 2 beautiful ladies at the Cup of Joe for the wonderful smiles and coffee every morning. We also want to thank Ginny and Brent who takes care of the lounges on the beach. They both made sure we had everything we needed for our beach needs. I received a wonderful massage by Daniella who was in the late stages of her pregnancy. She should have been receiving the massage, haha.. she was amazing. I think the renovations were tougher on the staff than us. We cannot wait to come back same time next year to see the completion. Thank you Westin Staff for all you did for us to ensure we had the best vacation. We so appreciated everything. The Heisler Family
Not worth the money

Beautiful hotel... but fyi under construction means sounds of jackhammers by the pool, and a view of a dumpster/ porta potty from the balcony. Also a/c didn't work, and comforter had a mildew stain and a yellow stain... expected better for the money. Booked room on the phone and was told the cheapest rate, turns out kamaaina was even cheaper but the calls go through the mainland so whomever I was speaking to wouldn't know about that rate. Apparently they can not change the rate once you're at the hotel even though it was the same exact room that would have been booked for kamaaina. No need to ever do a staycation there again. Oh yeah turn on all the lights and inspect the bed BEFORE you get in it.

From A to Z, this place had it all! The service was impressive, professional and friendly. I think the name of the exceptional young woman who checked us in is Leah. Brava! Our room was ready and spotless. Totally tricked out. How important is it for furniture and rugs to be spot and stain free? Very! And this place was spotless! Did I already say that? The grounds and pools were terrific. Access to boardwalk is so handy. We had a late dinner and a lunch at the pool bar/restaurant. Service, food and prices were fair. I had the Chicken Cobb. Yummy!! Stay here and you won’t regret it! Oh, one negative, some of the pool chaise lounges were dirty. Bird poop and stains. Time to replace some cushions and better spot cleaning for the darn birds.
