I would not recommend this hotel.

Bridgette W on Apr 20, 2024

I checked in almost 6pm on Thursday April 18, 2024 and I was immediately unimpressed. The staff on duty during that time was very unhelpful and unpleasant. Initially, there was no bellboy to either assist with my luggage or show me to my room. Very poor signage around the property, so it was hard to find my specific room. I then had to return to the front desk. Wayne was the bellboy who eventually assisted, and I appreciated that. Very cool dude. We called ahead of checking in to query the night passes which there was no problem there. However, what I found strange is being told to walk to the security post to let them know my guests are coming. Why are you asking your guest to walk outside of the property to let security know another guest is coming? The phones don’t work? Also, why is a guest being told ON THE DAY of checking in, that reservations for the restaurants on property.. should be made one day in advance? So that means if I spent one night only, I am limited. The general customer service of this hotel is poor. The staff needs some proper training. Drinks at the bar by the lobby are terrible, food is average and the rooms are nothing to die for. Not to mention some elevators were not working. It is such an inconvenience to ask guests to take the stairs. I could go on.. The only consolation of this stay was the beautiful beach. I would also like to commend Fitzroy and Christon by the Seafood Restaurant.

Overall a Good Hotel BUT…

Overall a Good Hotel BUT… be careful if you Book through a 3rd Party Websites or Joined hotel partner Companies like Marriot Bonvoy, Priceline ,or etc. Because the hotel tried to tell me something different when I got there … I booked for 2 adults 1 child (3 people) When I got there they said “Their System “ only showed for 2 and CHARGED me for 3rd person again, when all my paperwork and itinerary says for 3 people, even had them call manager of third party to confirm, they still argued their system shows 2 ??? And made me pay extra. I even called 2 weeks in advance to confirm my booking and person said I was confirmed for 3 people, then at hotel they asked well who did you speak to ?really? Also their system went down a few times when being there trying to purchase things,so can you trust their system? System needs an upgrade as well as some of the hotel. Unfortunately my stay started and ended this way otherwise it would be a good stay on the beach in Jamaica

Horrible service

OnAir60429056306 on Apr 19, 2024

The physical hotel it’s self is ok. The staff however isn’t. I probably encountered 2 nice friendly helpful people out of 10. Everyone here seems mad about their job, not wanting to it. It’s hospitality and they are rude and unfriendly. I traveled hours to get here and it’s not what I expected. Not sure if it’s like that everywhere but don’t expect great service here. Or even any service for that fact. A simple request seems like a bother to them. Also booked the ocean view room and they took HOURS to give me keys in what I consider partial ocean view bc there is a tree blocking most of it.

Overall good place to stay

My spouse and I travelled to Mo'bay April 7th to 14th and stayed at the Holiday Inn. Upon arriving we went to the main check-in desk to check in. Immediately we were escorted over to the VIP check in lounge. Still not sure why, but we were sat down with a receptionist and told we had booked an upgraded room (which we didnt) just the cheapest Westjet package we found. But had a discrepancy saying there was only 1 person booked for the room. I had to pull all my invoices from Westjet to prove that we had indeed booked for 2 occupants. While gathering the necessary information to prove that we had booked for 2 occupants, the receptionist took another call that took about 10 minutes to sort out, a little irritating but no big deal. Eventually we got everything sorted out and were placed in the all adult building (#7) to a junior suite. The room overall was a good size and comfortable. Came with a king-sized bed, a pull out sofa and a small coffee table and a couple of chairs. The bathroom was tiny and in need of updating, but it was clean and functionable. The tv had maybe 4 channels that were somewhat clear. Didn’t matter to us as we had zero intention of staying in the room to watch tv. A small coffee pot with coffee and tea are provided. A small fridge is also in the room. I highly recommend bringing your own water bottles as there are opportunities to refill water around the resort. We found the buffet had a good assortment of food selections and tasted overall pretty good. The al ’carte restaurants were great as another dining option. The Italian one was enjoyable. We found the Jamaican one not our favorite, just our limited exposure to Jamaican food. The Jerk Hut was alright, I found the chicken and the pork way too dry and grey in appearance. The burgers, hotdogs and ice cream hit the spot when you are looking for a snack or something to help cool down. The entertainment provided at the hotel is okay. That said, I haven’t been to a resort/hotel that has provided any entertainment, so we found it pleasing enough to hang around and watch for a while. The beach at the resort is very nice, never had issues finding beach chairs. They could use a more umbrellas to give a bit more shade on the beach and pool area. We did see all the feral cats that have been mentioned. They were all over, some sneaking into the buffet area, and all over the resort as a whole. I found the little convenience store smelled terribly of cat urine or spray. For the smokers out there, there are 2 areas that we found that you could have a leisurely smoke. One was close to the main building just out front of the gift shop/store. The other we found was beside the adult pool area off on the grass, nicely placed in the shade. The staff were not outrightly friendly, but not terribly rude. I feel like some of the areas are understaffed and what staff is on shift are busting their butts to provide a service but don’t have the time to be chatty or super friendly. In my humble opinion, I found the local women to be curt and a no nonsense type of personality. So theres no happy small talk or any idle chat. Just get to your point and move on. I think as a Canadian, it would be found to be rude and dismissive, which it is, but I think its come by honestly. Don’t get too offended if you find this. I always mentally cheered myself on when I made someone smile lol.

Don't stay here

Getaway31416327506 on Apr 17, 2024

The hotel is a little out dated. Our original room had no hot water took almost two days before they accommodated to another room and that room had a smell in it. We also called the day before our travel to ask about they swim up bar just to be upsold 50.00 more per night because the rep stated in order to go on the adult area we had to pay it was not included (come to find out that's not true wasted money) 50.00 is for you to stay in an adult area and you get a small mini bar with a few non alcoholic beverages except for 2 red stripe beers and thats not even everyday it also include a private bar for adult but was empty..and you get room seevice but its a selected menu and its for lunch /dinner snacks only up to 1030p..All pools close at 6p so if you doing anything off the property and want to come back and get in the pool sorry not happening...the adult pool the speakers are broken so no music but the young lady did allow someone to use they personal speaker...majority of they little snack shops close at 6pm if you want ice cream jerk chicken..the have minimal activities but after 10pm really nothing to do...they have a bar upstairs but for the 3 night we went only maybe 5-10 people were in there. Most of the workers were rude and not helpful gives mixed information..the guest relations rep Kayla (i think thats her name) was ridiculous rude..gift shop workers rude..you can report the workers but nothing gets done. First time visiting and if I ever choose to go back this would not be an option for myself nor family/friends...very disappointing
