We were at this resort 5 years ago and enjoyed it but this time it was a BIG disappointment. Right from the start at reception you could feel a decline in service. We have been to Jamaica 20 times and love the people however it was hard to find any happy staff. Some of the servers and housekeeping were wonderful but the management were always unavailable and unhelpful. We paid for the ocean front junior suite, top category, and didn’t get it. We were expecting a king bed, however when we requested a room change, nothing was available until the next day at any of the three properties here. Hard to believe. When I went to shower there were no amenities, no shampoo. I went out in the hall to ask a maid and she said check your shower, it’s on the wall. Well it was not on the wall. It looked like the dispenser had been ripped off the wall. So I go back out to the maid and asked again. She explained she didn’t have any and would have to call for some. In a while someone arrived with a shampoo dispenser that should fit in the missing dispenser. Fine I was able to have a shower. When I turned on the shower the water was brown. After letting it run for 5 minutes it was clear. The next day we moved to another room, at 4:30 pm. We were expecting to move much earlier but we had to continually call the front desk to find out when it would be ready. This room also did not have shampoo. We had to find a maid again and she brought some to our room, she didn’t install it in the dispenser but at least she brought it and was pleasant. Oh and the bed was so uncomfortable and the tv had a permanent line down the middle. Normally we wouldn’t care about the tv but there a fair bit of rain. We mentioned that we would like to take a look at the adults only property and they said no probem, come tomorrow morning for breakfast and a tour. At no time were we informed that we were being taken to a high pressure sales pitch for their Iberostar club. What a waste of our time. The food has gone way downhill from the last time we were here. Lots of variety available and it is presented nicely but most of the time it isn’t hot. Makes you wonder if it’s safe to eat when it’s lukewarm. Sure enough my husband was sick for two days from something he ate. Another one of the guests we met on the beach said she went to the beach buffet the day before and the inspectors were there and had them remove a lot of the buffet. The Japanese restaurant was the highlight of the dinners. Good food, very entertaining and fun. We were repeat customers and the management had the chance to turn this review around but seemed disinterested. I could go on and on about how many things are not being maintained on the property but I’d be wasting my breath. I have never given a negative review before for any property we have stayed at in Jamaica but I’m sorry guests need to complain or nothing will change. We will not be back

    Good resort for families

Overall, this resort is a great option for families and groups. There is “just enough” here to keep things manageable. During our stay in November it was not that busy and we had no trouble finding chairs at the beach and pool. My rating of 3/5 (average) is based mainly on the quality of my room and the food, relative to other resorts I’ve stayed at. - Arrival - This resort was about a 25 minute drive from the Montego Bay airport. Check-in was easy. - Room - We stayed in a superior room (2 double beds) and we had a view of the kids pool (looked fun!) and a partial view of the ocean. If full ocean view is important, then be sure to upgrade to the ocean view rooms. It might be tough to haggle a free upgrade at check-in and I don’t recommend this approach. The room was average, and did have a musky smell to it. It had working safe, iron / board, tv, and mini fridge. The bathroom shower was a good size. They supply a blow dryer and dispenser shampoo, conditioner, body wash, hand soap and lotion. There were no other amenities (eg: facial cotton, q-tips etc.). - Food & Drinks - The food was average in my opinion. There is a decent selection of food. We tried the Italian and steakhouse restaurants and they were a nice change from the buffet. Room service was prompt with a limited menu, but still a nice option to have. Ice cream shop was a cool option. Drinks were good. Service (at the beach and pool) was excellent. Really enjoyed the theatre bar and the night time shows. Found the service at the swim-up bar to be a bit less friendly than other bars. - Entertainment - There is daily pool side entertainment and usually something going on at night. Staff were great and always let us know about shows and events. The iberostar app also has a calendar to help plan your day. - Golf & Gym - Nice gym. There are a couple golf courses nearby too. Definitely recommend checking them out if you like golfing. - Currency - Most people used US dollars for tips. The front desk will break your bills for you. Definitely recommend tipping for good service - but if service is not great, then perhaps tip less.

I love JAMAICA been there many many times always had a very good time. This was our first time at the Iberostar resort in Jamaica it was my birthday I had a birthday banner on my door wine in the room along with a cake and fruit(nice) Now the staff from the front desk at check in and throughout the resort not a friendly staff person no one greeted you or smiled which is not like JAMAICA. The lobby needs serious updating. The room with the ocean view was wonderful but what spoiled it for us was the roaches in the buffet they were crawling all over the wall and under the toaster which was trip ending for me. I hope this will encourage someone to make some changes at this location because I love Iberostar

My boyfriend and I went for a weekend getaway for my birthday. The hotel is big and beautiful, however cleanliness is an issue. Upon arriving to our room, we started to noticed all the tiny roaches. At first we thought maybe it was just in the rooms , but we went to the restaurant and again roaches and the roomies were not properly cleaned. Security is also an issue , there are no cameras on the property and there are many isolated areas of the hotels. We paid a lot of money to stay at this hotel and was very disappointed. DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND DON’T WASTE YOUR MONEY.

We had amazing time here. The staff were all amazing. There was always someone smiling at you or greeting you. The food was awesome and we loved the entertainment team! Special shoutout to the Sparkles! She was hands down our favourite entertainer and always pulled us in for a game. We also loved the other entertainers Chocolate, Romaine Lettuce, Angel and String Bean. The new guy Pea head was also very nice! Over all, great experience and we are definitely coming back!!
