This resort is right next to the airport. The noise from planes taking off was extremely loud. The service was mediocre. Bars kept running out of good alcohol. If you want to eat at one of the restaurants that require a reservation, make your reservation as soon as you get there or you won’t get in. Beach is nice. Lots of activities offered.

Ok, but not one of our favorite Sandals.

Well my husband and I just returned from our 20th Sandals trip but first time to Montego Bay. We are senior citizens and love Sandals, That being said please understand this is just our opinion. We arrived on a Monday from Pittsburgh Pennsylvania and the flight was smooth and easy. We used the Mobay service but would not have needed it. We arrived at Sandals and our butler was waiting. This was only second time with butler we usually do club level. Our room was an M1 Suite in Building 15 and it was amazing. Very large with a big patio and great view of the ocean, Also within steps of the Latitude Bar. Unfortunately half way through our stay we came back to get ready for dinner to find our room flooded and water coming from ceiling lights. All our clothes hanging in closet were wet. We called our butler who in turn called maintenance, We were wet and cold sitting in air conditioning and it took almost 2 hours only to find out we would have to move to a different room. They moved us to room 650 which was a swim up. It was a smaller room but if booking it we would have paid more. Some people would think this is great. We have had swim up rooms and we much prefer walkouts with a great view. So we lost our room, lost the evening because by the time we packed and unpacked and showered. Did not have many clothes so ate in the room at around 9;00. Nothing was said about all this and late Sunday evening just in time for dinner our clothes returned. We were not very happy about this and plan to write a letter to Sandals. Ok the food is next. All of it was ok but nothing wass great. We found food much better at many other Sandals. Also Bayside was closed so we had one less restaurant to try. Out favorite ended up being Cuccinas and Tokyo Joes. Weather was amazing. We were there 9 days and saw rain one afternoon for about 3 hours. Beach was nice. Here is where we also had an issue. We love a nice beach but like the variety of being able to go from beach to pool. I knew this was a beach resort but never realized how small the pools were. They were smaller than a lot of home pools and maybe 3 or 4 people would be in them at times. Absolutely no music at pool and no activities at all except for Thursday afternoon. On the beach they would have a couple activities but they were spread out. Some would be at Latitudes, some at Stewfish and some just on the beach. However hard to hear what was going on and the beach is long so if you were not right where things were happening you did not even know anything was going on. They had 4 large round floats in the ocean but very hard to get with the number of people there. I know this may be exactly what some people would want and that is ok but we will not return to Montego Bay. Our favorite resorts are South Coast and Emerald Bay. Night time entertainment was bad and the living room where they have everything was very hot. The workers were all great and our butlers were ok but not as good as the butlers others talked about. The day we went to leave they had everything messed up because of room change and we were late getting out of resort. Lastly, please believe we are not what I would call picky people but being to so many you tend to compare them and I think that is where Montego Bay lost out. We will be at Emerald Bay in May for our 3rd time there. Will be glad to answer any questions

This is the fourth Sandals property that we have visited (Whitehouse - Emerald Bay - Royal Bahamian - Montego Bay). I would rank this one 4th of the 4. That’s not to say it’s bad but Whitehouse and Emerald Bay are far superior. A much different experience. This is our first full day here. I want to make particular note that the first large jet took off at 6:13am this morning. And that sounded like it was from the hallway outside our room. ?? I will amend this review when we are home.

Stopped here for a few days to end our trip in MoBay near the airport. The rooms, service, and food were great. The best part was seeing our old friends from Sandals Inn. Floyd, Romario, Jerome, Doreen, Dominique, Camila, and Janet were all there and killing it in service. Glad to see them all again. We also met some other employees including Marlon & Stephon who were great as well. We will continue to stop here to end our trip near the airport since we aren’t to fond of hearing the airplane noise all day. We tend to go to Sandals properties further from the airport to start the trip for the first week and end it in MoBay for 3 or 4 days. This is purely personal choice, nothing to do with Sandals.

    A great time..

This place really is paradise. We had a great week here thanks to our butlers Aaron and Mykel. They made sure our every need was met from drinks, lunch, snacks, reservations, etc. I really have nothing but good things to say about the breakfast staff, the bartenders, even the groundskeepers. Make sure to visit Odene in the come back soon area to book your return trip
