After reading some of the bad reviews I decided to write this review as we had an amazing trip and the stay was great. Upon arrival we was checked in and it was done swiftly and both the bell man and reception staff were very polite and helpful. The hotel itself is 4omins away from Montego bay airport. We had 9 nights here and it was really quiet. The room was a sea view ground floor room, which was a 1min walk to beach. Room was spacious and clean. The toilet did occasionally leak and the shower could do with a upgrade. But all in all it was perfectly fine. I would give the room a 4/5 The restaurants were all great. We did not upgrade to the level so we had access to 3 restaurants which didn't need to be pre-booked offering, chinese/asian, Italian and grill/steak house. The Asian restaurants also offers a private chef to cook your meal in a small group as a dining experience which is included but just needs to be booked. The food at all restaurants was excellent and service was great. They also have a main buffet area - food was good but as the buffet is outside we found flies would be around the food which put us off. The jerk shack is really tasty and they have fresh fruit and coconut drink stand available everyday, which was amazing. Overall food was good and again I would rate it 4/5. The staff also made this hotel fantastic... Dexton, Jason, Dean Paul are three that stuck in our mind. Everyone at this hotel is friendly and make your stay amazing. The beach stretched over two areas.. as we did not upgrade we had the bigger stretch of the beach. Being October I think we went at the beginning of the season and it was so quiet and blissful. The beach was long and two to three coves and we found a beautiful tranquil area and most days we found it very quiet. You may need sea shoes as there are rocks and coral around the area. The beach was overall 5/5 Overall we had a an amazing trip.. the hotel had great facilities, it was relaxing and the staff really made it fun to be there.

I enjoyed my experience at Melia Braco Village. Upon arrival at check in I was pleasantly surprised to have been upgraded to the LEVEL. I also informed them how excited I was for the upgrade since I was there to celebrate my birthday and the staff were so pleasant. They brought a bottle of wine, cake, a card and chocolate to the room. The staff is super friendly, pleasant, yet appropriately professional. The room is elegant and comfortable. The grounds are well kept. Pool and beach areas are very clean. Overall the food was good, but I was a bit underwhelmed by the food options. I also thought that they could have incorporated more local fruits on the menu.

Most restaurants not open during our stay. Buffet food satisfactory only. Roaches in rooms. Attending a wedding and the bride and groom were robbed of $1000. Taken from their room safe. Most staff was friendly and several bartenders were very accommodating!

This is the perfect property for a fun relaxing vacation. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. Every member of the staff we passed throughout the day made it a point to say hello and ask how our stay was and if we needed anything. I can't review this property without mentioning a few of the very best on Melia's staff. First and foremost is Onar , at the pool bar. Onar made our stay so much fun! He is the best! Ramona in Guest Services is also awesome! She is so friendly and helpful. She arranged for a cab to take us to Ocho Rios for a shopping trip which was perfect for us. We had an excellent cab driver, Natrick, who made our day fun and informative. He took us shopping and made a point to show us some of the other sights around Ocho Rios and explain about the area's culture and history. I would highly recommend hiring Natrick for a day of sightseeing in the area. All of the activities staff were great. They were so friendly and made sure to include everyone who wanted to join in on the games and activities. I also have to mention Chevel who helped Onar out at the bar. She is so sweet! Michael was our waiter at the buffet on our last day and he made the best impression on us as far as wait staff at the buffet went. He was by far the best waiter we had on our stay. As I said all of the staff were friendly and accommodating, but those are just a few who made an impression for me. The property is beautiful. The staff does a wonderful job maintaining the grounds and buildings. The only thing I would suggest is that they update the public bathrooms. They are rather small and not well ventilated. They remind me of campground bathrooms. It would be nice to see larger bathrooms with air conditioning. Like any property if you look close enough you can see the age of the property in the little repairs that need to be made, but all in all it is a very well maintained property. The buildings do not have elevators so if you have mobility issues this may be a problem. I have arthritis in my hips and it can be an issue. Luckily, we got a ground floor room in Bldg 3, so it was a little taxing walking to the pool, beach, etc, but not bad. Not sure I could have made it had we been on the third floor. The beach and grounds are beautiful, but what makes this resort the best is it's people! I would recommend this resort based solely on the staff! Don't get me wrong, there are some staff who just couldn't be bothered to smile or greet you, but they are few and were easy to overlook.
