We booked a room here for one night even though my parents have a house close by. Like many people we wanted to get the benefit of the unlimited express passes. Lobby is beautiful and staff was friendly. We checked in early and since we were going to Volcano Bay for the day they waited to assign us a room since we requested a room near the elevator and on a higher floor. When we returned and got our room it was on the 4th floor. However it was literally at the end of the hallway, as far from the elevators as you can get. But no big deal. The standard rooms are very small. The beds say queen but look like full. The room is dated. They have a new nice sink area but left the old sink in the bathroom. The pipes of the sink were crusted and old. There was some black mold on the ceiling which is unacceptable. The bathtub didn’t drain so I was standing in water trying to shower. The room was simply old and dirty. I’m not normally picky about small things but for 600 per night, I expected much more. When I called and asked for a new room due mostly to the mold I was told they were fully booked and could possibly get me a new room the next day which of course wasn’t an option. The most frustrating part was going directly to their website and seeing we could book a room so clearly they were not full. So many large groups there and us being one - nighters, it seemed we were just brushed aside. After spending money for a Cabana at Volcano Bay plus tickets and then hundreds for tickets for Universal , It was extremely frustrating to have to pack up and leave the hotel. So yes we got the passes for cheaper but we didn’t even end up staying there and went to my parent’s. Bottom line, if you wanna book a room for the cheaper passes, don’t even bother staying there. They know they have people by the wallet because of the pass deal. It’s a shame. I am very familiar with Lowes hotels being from the Philadelphia area and also near Atlantic City. Never had an issue with them until now. And the icing on the cake was we were charged for room service after our checkout time! They did remove the charge but again , why?! Next time I’ll just pay the extra for the passes and not waste my time and money. Universal should reconsider their partnership with them if this is how they treat their guest. If I was staying there not just for the passes and had to stay there a few nights I would be furious about the room conditions.

Nice hotel and well managed and clean. Great theming as would be expected. Location could not be better for universal park. Overall tho nothing special and defo not worth staying here if it’s just for the early park entrance, which frankly is pants! The universal entrance and park is closed for early entrance, you only get access to IOA and there was only 3 rides open! The draw here is Hagrid’s ride but it’s far better to ride Hagrid late in the evening just before park closes! Plus they let the masses in 30 mins early anyway so you get 30 mins ‘early entrance’ alongside all the other 1000’s on-site hotel guests. We stayed rock star class which is worth it.

This hotel is lovely. I visited in October 2023 and was not convinced, however, owing to the renovations at Portofino Bay hotel I was pushed to visit again in April 2024 and have completely changed my mind, its absolutely super. Its my new favourite hotel. The hotel itself is very clean, the staff are super friendly, the pool is great and warm. The pool service is efficient and great. The general atmosphere in thee hotel is very upbeat and its a real feel good place. The rooms are spacious and quite nice. I like the layout of the pool and the loungers, there is always somewhere nice to sit around the pool. The little shop near the pool serves Starbucks and many snacks....keeps the kids happy. It was a really super holiday, so big thanks to the Hard Rock Hotel and team.

It was a first here for us. Very nice hotel with a unique vibe. The staff was very nice and helpful, the room were spacious enough and pretty clean. It was a bit noisy sometimes. Pretty expensive. It was convenient to get to the parks from the hotel. I recommend.

Disappointed with the hotel in general. Standard of room fell well below our expectations, broken sockets, cupboard hanging off, lumpy pillows and generally tired. View from room was of mould and dirt. We had booked for 1 night to get the express passes which were great but did expect to also get a comfortable nights sleep to be able to fully benefit from these.
