Beautiful property, Lots to do!

Bryant H (Atlanta, Georgia) on Apr 11, 2024

This hotel is FABULOUS!!! The property is beautiful. We loved the garden and the hand-held hummingbird feeders, lazy river, and the infinity edge hot tub overlooking the golf course. The fitness center is well-equipped and not too busy. Took a lovely yoga class that ended up being a private since I was the only yogi - thanks Joy! Got one of the best sports massages I've ever had in my life - thanks Daisy! Spent a whole afternoon enjoying the spa amenities - thanks Michelle! Every meal was excellent. We walked to a nearby shopping center and listened to live music, and hiked the nearby Gateway Loop. We ran out of time to rent bikes. This was a family trip but I'm planning a girls' trip to come back. Thank you JWM Desert Ridge!

Chair RESERVATION game at it’s craziest

BeachSeekerG (Toronto, Canada) on Apr 03, 2024

CHAIR RESERVATION GAME at its finest. I saw everyone in their reviews was exaggerating, but I’m here at 8:36 AM and there’s no chairs available. Even in Dominican Republic resorts, the staff will take away the chairs that are reserved after an hour of nobody being there, here people are not even pretending they’re here they just leave their stuff and go for breakfast lunch and don’t even come back until middle of the day. The whole place is empty and nowhere to sit. so sad to see disheartening faces of people coming in here at 9 AM and not being able to find to sit somewhere.

Loudest club music I’ve ever heard

Aaron T (Wexford, Pennsylvania) on Mar 30, 2024

The hotel is fine, definitely not 5 star, a bit worn down, and hardly any food for kids. There was a wedding on Saturday night and the club music was so loud it was as if the party was in my room. Our beds were shaking. My kids were so tired and in tears, pleading for the music to stop. Staff offered $100 for our troubles which doesn’t nearly cover the hassle. Don’t stay here if you plan to sleep during your stay.

For Active Families & Serenity-Seeking Adults.

Room-in-my-suitcase (Ottawa, Canada) on Mar 30, 2024

Nestled within the serene beauty of the Sonoran Desert is the JW Marriott Phoenix Desert Resort & Spa. I loved my Peloton Wellness Suite primarily because I didn't have to go to the gym to exercise. With King Bed, balcony, Peloton Bike, exercise cubicle, micro gym equipment, desk, floor-to-ceiling windows, dramatic wood furnishings, bath with separate tub and shower.........this room was equipped. The resort is laced with a fine array of dining and drinking venues. Tia Carmen is a standout Tulum-esque indoor/outdoor eatery centered around Southwestern cuisine with entrees like mesquite-smoked chicken, grilled whole trout......I opted for the baja striped bass which was fabulous with an aguachile margarita. For more casual options, the lobby restaurant and bar Twenty6 has a mixed menu of appetizers, flatbreads and salads along with innovative cocktails. The star of the resort; however, is the Revive Spa & Fitness Center. The facility is equipped with steams rooms, hot tub, pool and a super gym & Fitness Center. So, If you are looking for a fitness-focused facility offering a tranquil enclave to escape the hustle/bustle of modern living......then try the..........JW Marriott Phoenix Desert Ridge Resort & Spa................for active families & serenity-seeking adults.

Not worth it!!!

mommalovescarbs (Libertyville, Illinois) on Mar 29, 2024

We are currently staying at this property through April 1. We booked last minute due to extending our trip and wanting to have a little bit of luxury mixed with fun for our kids (6, 3.5 and 9 months). I will say this resort offers a lot of amenities for the kids which is great. The pools are nice, but that’s really where it ends. In order to get A chair at the pool you would need to wake up at the crack of dawn and throw down towels to reserve your chairs. Which I guess is fine if you enjoy hoarding seats until you are ready to go to the pool eventually, but if you have a conscience maybe not. Foolish decision on our part (good conscience). We are paying (way too much 800+) an embarrassing amount of money to stay here a night so I went to the front desk to ask what the protocol is about chairs (turns out there is none, except for purchasing a chair or buying a cabana for the day). She offered me 50 dollars credit (which actually wouldn’t even get you 1 paid for chair). So there is that. On to the rooms… when staying at a “luxury” resort you expect to be refreshed every day but not here! We have trash overflowing in our rooms so we are having to bring trash to the laundry room. Dirty bedding from having 3 kids as you can imagine! I would never stay here again, wish we could leave and go back to the Fairmont Princess which I would HIGHLY recommend over this.
