Just returned home from a 5 night stay at the Fiesta Americana with my friend last night. I have stayed at several AI's in Mexico (this was my 5th time to PV), and my thoughts on the stay are mixed. Food: Overall, the food was great. We ate at the Italian restaurant 3 nights and the food was amazing all 3 times. I would highly recommend the beef carpaccio, risotto and tenderloin. There was a nice gentleman playing the piano with dinner which made the atmosphere nice. For the Mexican restaurant, the portions were huge, but the food was tasty. Really enjoyed the tortilla soup. The only dinner we did not enjoy was at the Asian restaurant, both of our dishes were not good. For lunch you can eat at either the pool grill for basic food, or at the beach restaurant which had great fish tacos (Ismael was great and even brought us a plate of fruit on our last day). You can also order on the beach and the waiter will bring it over to you. Breakfast was good, pretty standard AI food, and the buffet was very nice (new building). Also, there is a cafe in the lobby that has great drinks and treats. I cannot remember the two ladies names we saw there throughout the trip, but they make great lattes. Grounds: The outside area of the hotel is beautiful. The beach is awesome for swimming, really clean and nice. They could use new beach chairs however. The pool is also very nicely maintained, and there is lots of seating around of it, we never had an issue finding chairs. Shout out to Carlos at the beach for always bringing us drink refills, and Luis at the pool area for taking time to talk, bringing us great drinks, and being super friendly. We inquired about using the Sonne Club one day (literally just wanted to go up and use the pool) and were told that it would be $95 USD for the two of us to access it... which seemed nuts so we did not do it. Rooms: This is where we were really disappointed. While the outside grounds at the hotel were very nice, the room we had was really outdated, and our patio (chairs and table included) was covered in bird droppings which was never cleaned during our stay. It could use a major overhaul to catch up with other AI's in the area. As others have mentioned, the music runs LATE into the night, and we could hear it going for hours up in our room, plus guests were incredibly loud throughout the night in the halls. Activities: There is not much to do if you stay at this hotel in comparison to others. They have activities posted daily by the pool, but don't tell you where they are happening. We only ever saw the water aerobics because it was held in the main pool. My friend and I were easily the youngest of the adults at the hotel, and the activities would seem to be geared more towards the older guests. Night time activities were virtually none asides from the odd band in the lobby bar at night. One night we walked over to the beach restaurant, and two of the staff were super nice to bring us over drinks, and turn on the string lights that are hung on the ceiling. I think this would be a great thing to do nightly... give people another option asides from sitting in the lobby bar where they can play cards, have a drink, and relax while looking at the lights in downtown Puerto Vallarta. Overall, the food and staff were great, but the hotel itself really needs work, along with activities during the day and at night (especially for younger adults). I will not be returning to this resort because of that, and honestly I do not know how the overall rating on trip advisor is so high for this hotel.

We spent 9 days at the hotel beginning of Dec this year. The hotel is clean, the food great, and the staff one of the most obliging in every sense of the word. Great time of the year to go as the hotel is not packed with people.

My experience in this hotel was not bad, but the attention during my check-out was terrible, something happens when you make your check-out, the attention and good service practically disappears and the staff forgets all the education with you. Please do something, the staff was rude and it was a terrible experience.

The food was good, the accommodations were good, the beds were comfortable and the drinks were good. The thing that We did not like was that the main pool was always too warm, in fact it was close to being hot.

If it was not for the staff, this hotel would be typical Mexican resort. Big thank you to Westjet staff, Alvaro and Angie.Front desk, David, Alexandra, and Mariana. Beach crew, Luis, Sergio, Izmiel, Towel and pool, Yosimar ,Artimio, and Milton,Hostess, Liliana,Karla,Jasmine, Maggie and Danielle .Armando Flores Mexican dinner, Waiter, Gume, Daniel,Carmen, Alexandro, and so many more that I can't name them all. Perfect size, good food especially at the Italian restaurant. Beach and pool chairs could be changed to make it more comfortable. We stayed on the fourth floor in the middle of the hotel . We thought it would be noisy but it turned out to be quiet. Just make sure to bring ear plugs if you like to turn in earlier than 10:pm. Bus top in front of hotel going to downtown, it cost us 20 pesos for both one way.We went to Bucerias on local bus for 40 pesos. It is best to bring Pesos as there is a charge at the hotel to change American dollars to pesos.
