My husband, my 5 year old daughter and I stayed at this resort for a week in August 2020 to celebrate my 40th birthday. We had an amazing time! The resort is more beautiful in person than in pictures. The included free access to different xcaret parks (Xplor, XelHa, Xenses etc) made all the difference. Which was great as at the time there was no entertainment there due to Covid 19. Except for the main bar with late evening bands and the teatro del rio show. But having thought about it, I don't think day time entertainment is necessary as you'll never be bored here. There's always something to explore, see and various parks to visit. This time we re visited Xenses park, xcaret park and for the first time Xplor park, which is our new favorite. My daughter was able to do all the activities including zip lining (tandem zip line with a parent). It was fantastic!. These three parks are the closest so we were able to spend half days and half days back at the resort. if you haven't seen the Xcaret park night time show, take the canal boat there (12 minute boat ride) you won't regret it. We mostly frequented the Mercado for meals as it's super difficult to get a reservation anywhere else. But the Chibali and Bio restaurants at off peak times were just as nice. So make your reservations day 1. The kids club was amazing and my daughter loved going there to visit the other kids and ladies working there. They have daily activities that seem like a lot of fun. One more tip, if you drink a lot of water like I do bring your own water bottle. Water is available but only in big glass bottles and I don't think you should carry them around. The only negative comment I have is about their return guest customer service. We had a chance to stay here for another week but trying to talk to someone about an extended week was impossible . It seemed like they didn't want a loyal returning customer and after a few phone calls to the front desk we were just told to book online. I would think that during covid times you may want our money. But I guess Xcaret park does not want your 5K plus per week. Even at the start of our holiday they wanted to upgrade us. Same room but more costly.

Manuel is the best. He was very attentive, refilled our drinks promptly, cleared our plates quickly and was always there when we were ready for him but not annoyingly often. It was just perfect. The food was delicious and very well presented. ROGER, the chef did an awesome job! Thanks!

The food was so good. The view made it a wonderful experience and great service from Rocio. The chef brought us bread which was delicious! One of our most memorable meals here. I didn’t think I would eat as much as I did, but I wanted to try everything!
Number one on our list!

After our first experience several years ago, we waited anxiously for this trip. Both because we were wondering if expectations could be met again, and scared COVID would shut us down. The precautions at the resort are extraordinary and I second those who feel safer than in the US. But the staff, especially in the Fuego restaurant made our trip amazing! We had an ocean view room, which I highly recommend. We remembered the perks of the Fuego section, but vowed we would try new experiences this trip.....but ended up most breakfasts with David and his exceptional service, Spanish lessons, and tastes of Mexico that he had the Chef prepare for us! Our one breakfast at Bio was wonderful, but I cannot recall our wonderful servers name! The luxury continues every day with the Fuego pool, warm water, view unmatched, and spoiled by Rosie and Bernese everyday. Try the ceviche, or the burger, (I know, right, go to Mexico, get great burger!), but it seems to taste better with the blue sky, and ocean air! We did get in to Xin Gao for the teppanyaki, very fun. And Mercado, but again found our favorite experience with dinners at Fuego, with Marco and Julio. We tried almost every item on the menu. We loved so much about our stay, if you want to be pampered, stay in Fuego and enjoy all this resort has to offer. ( oh and go to the spa!) well worth the little extra!
Excellent and safe getaway!

Pro’s: infection prevention was a top priority. I felt safer at the resort than I do going out in the US. Temperatures are checked at every restaurant, shoe sanitizing mats, and hand sanitizer stations were located throughout the resort. They were also very cautious and thorough with food allergies which I appreciated since I was traveling with someone who has anaphylactic allergies. The architecture and details of the building, rooms, and lay out were amazing. Every room has a gorgeous view whether it be the ocean, river, or garden. There are many walking bridges which are a fun detail that I’ve never seen anywhere else. The activities are endless; you have the option of swimming in the pool, river, and ocean. The parks are an unbelievable perk and probably the number one reason I would stay at the hotel again. There are many options to get to the parks including a boat ride, shuttle, or bicycling which I thought was a fun touch. There are also multiple bars and food carts throughout the resort. The spa is insanely pleasing to the eye. They had individual rooms for either singles or couples for their therapies. Each room resembled a cave but was warm and welcoming. Such a relaxing experience. I recommend visiting the spa for sure. Cons: The food was GOOD. Not the best I’ve ever had in my life but definitely good. In my opinion the two best restaurants were las playas and teatro del rio. Unfortunately, due to covid, some of the other restaurants were closed. There was a lot of selection and different ethnic foods available. The check in process took forever. They only had one person at the desk at a time, which was fine considering social distancing, but everything that I had filled out online in order to book I had to fill out again. Our room wasn’t ready until around 5pm which wasn’t a big deal because they had a room to hold your luggage but it was frustrating. Check out is at noon so I wasn’t expecting being out of the room for that long. The only other area for improvement was the use of signage. We often found ourselves lost trying to get back to our hotel room. The restaurants aren’t clearly marked which led to some confusion and there weren’t signs for shuttle pick ups/air port pick ups. We managed to get around and enjoyed exploring but I wish the areas were marked a little better. Overall, I would absolutely come back again. I wish after a long flight the check in experience was a little better but we had an amazing trip and would recommend hotel xcaret to anyone looking for an adventure or a relaxing getaway.
