    An Impressive Hotel....

    Timing is everything - ours wasn't great. My Wife was due to attend a Conference from March 8th, it was cancelled at the last minute, but we travelled anyway.. Let's just say it was quiet. This enormous Hotel, has over 1,600 Bedrooms in two high-rise Towers, with support facilities. Occupancy was low when we arrived, and declined further over our 5 night stay. Unsurprisingly, some of the usual services closed down or were restricted, due to low demand. But we quite enjoyed our stay, for all the unforeseen limitations - more painful for the many staff laid-off than for us, it's fair to say. Our 25th Floor Room was comfortable & had a good view. We had a few Glasses of Wine in the (subsequently closed) "Brew 30 Bar" the first evening. The "Seaview Restaurant", for Breakfast, had good options ; Sammy, our Server on 1 morning, was excellent. We also used the 24 hour "Market/One" facility : staff attentiveness here was "mixed" (they were mainly absorbing the TV News). Front-Desk / Guest Services people were generally capable and responsive : we especially commend Jackson, and, above all, Caroline S, who could not have been more helpful with advice + some problem-solving - many thanks, Caroline, for your friendly care and attention! By the way, the Hotel was impressively conscientious in providing Hand Sanitizing facilities, with safely usable Dispensers dispersed throughout the public areas : well done! We departed with a generally favorable view of the "Manchester Grand Hyatt".

    The check in staff is very friendly and helpful. The hotel is clean and beautiful. Due to Corona virus, all the restaurants are closed so I cannot try the foods here. I would definitely come back in the future.

    A big conference hotel...

    An earlier review said "dated" - which it is. I had no idea that the construction next door was for a new Hyatt and if it is, then it makes no sense to renovate the Grand Hyatt. so now I understand. We booked partly on Hyatt points and extended our stay for two nights. Staff did not reduce the room cost but gave us an upgrade. Staff are lovely - well they work for Hyatt! - the hotel is a large conference hotel and very little was open when we stayed there because there were no conferences because of the virus. We ate breakfast there twice - it was OK - and lunch once at Sally's which was so-so but convenient.

    Beautiful but dated

    Excellent staff, great location and views. Hotel was clean and stylish; but it's looking a little dated in the hallways and rooms. But with a new Hyatt complex being built a block it's not been a priority to spruce it up yet. NOTE: due to Covid-19 the hotel was almost empty. Staff were kind to reduce our room rates accordingly to the current market rates (significantly below our original block rate).

    Disappointing check in

    Waited two hours for check in. Manager kept saying first the room is being cleaned then an hour later after they text me the room is ready which it was not they said the room is still occupied. I checked finally at 5.10 pm
