Paradise on earth! The resort is breathtaking-the staff is incredible-food is delicious-so many options, never get bored! We had butler swim-out sunset suite-arguably one of the best rooms in the resort and our butler, Ranjeet, made this the best trip we had ever had! Ranjeet made us feel like family-he brings a true honor and nobility to his service and we were so so grateful to have his guidance and assistance throughout our stay! Ranjeet went above and beyond for us-from hosting a private dinner for two, to arranging for the tuna we caught on our fishing trip was cooked by one of the chefs for dinner (which was absolutely fantastic)! Sonesta Ocean Point has our unqualified recommendation forever and if you are lucky enough to have Ranjeet as your butler-you can expect the vacation of a lifetime-full stop. Can't wait to go back!

I recently spent vacation at Ocean Point resort. I had fantastic time! As always. Outstanding service, attention to details, comfortable and safe environment. With great pleasure I would like to compliment and appreciate service of Shingai T.C Madhlangobe at Azul breakfast. She made my stay even more comfortable and memorable. Can't wait to come back

This was our first trip out of the US in 15 years of being together. We booked Ocean Point because it was an adults only all inclusive to celebrate our 10 year anniversary/finally taking our honeymoon...and I am so glad we did! We cannot say enough about our stay and time at the Ocean Point. It was way more than what we expected and the food is great! I have dietary restrictions (Gluten Free, not celiac/Dairy Free) and was able to eat without getting sick...which is a huge win to start with! We loved our accommodations and all the pools. The employees were amazing and super friendly/helpful. Anything we needed they were there to assist with.

Excellent food. Excellent wait/bus staff at Azul - Jeneal, Kim, Gabby and others made our meals very enjoyable. Friendly and efficient housekeeping staff. Angela at the front desk was exceptional. Zen garden massage was so relaxing. Bars everywhere. Comfortable room. Great views. Nice sea breeze. Water aerobics at Maho was fun. The resort is 2 minutes from the airport - really convenient. Pharmacy is a 5 minute walk west. Easy to catch the local bus into P-burg or taxis. Concierge was helpful, but the programming was limited and overpriced. We did enjoy a boat/snorkel tour around the island and local lunch in Grand Case at LouLou’s. Mullet Bay Beach is a 10-15 minute walk west. Big, pretty beach, but very busy on a Sunday. Bring your own shade! Night life was disappointing. DJs played music that cleared the dance floor rather than bringing people out, or programs that catered to children from Maho Beach. Funk night band was awesome, but they were tucked away in a tiny event space that was really hard to find. They should have been at the rooftop lounge. Resort leadership could invest in customer service training for new hires to ensure you have the right people facing customers. We encountered as many unhappy, unapproachable and surly employees as we did pleasant, helpful and exceptional. Unfortunately, we couldn’t predict who would be helpful or not, and these encounters left us feeling unwelcome. Our room was quite warm. Despite asking for an HVAC check every day, there was no evidence that maintenance had been in and no improvement to the AC performance. We had some very hot nights, hard to sleep.

Pros the resort is beautiful and well maintained! Most of employees are very friendly and efficient! I would like to acknowledge Jenarle at Azul he was fantastic at his job. Jenarle went out of his way to accommodate us! Azul restaurant was our favorite! Quality food and Service with Beautiful views. We had coffee delivered to our suite every morning and the service was always quick. Smiley always delivered the coffee with a big smile and brightened our day! Cons The Beach. It is not a swimmable beach! Very Rough! Not Relaxing. We have stayed at other Adults only Resorts but I don’t consider this an adults only resort. You are sharing beach and some restaurants with the Family side. I felt bad for parents at the beach because the children were crying about how rough the water was. I also do not feel this was a 5 star resort I would give it 3.5.
