Great For Adults and Small kids

This hotel is beautiful, the staff was amazing, but we were moved last minute unexpectedly from another Dreams resort which we chose based on the activities at the resort that would have been a better fit for our older kids traveling with us. Dreams Vista not so much for mid teen ages. But again, the resort was beautiful and clean and staff was so nice. Coming in during a time like COVID we expected many challenges but everything went smoothly, my only criticism was they could have better updated the activity system in the room with what restaurants were open for the day to to COVID etc. Otherwise great! ***I didn't list anything for value below because this was part of our free AMResorts nights package so I have no clue what the value would have been since we were moved from the resort we were originally booked at.
Beautiful resort with great service

We had the pleasure of staying at 3 resorts, over the last two weeks. During our stay, we enjoyed Dreams Vista, Secrets Maroma Beach and Zoetry Villa Rolandi. Traveling during a pandemic can leave you a bit unsettled, but I have to say that I did not feel worried once I arrived. I cannot say enough about the state of the cleanliness and how often you would see employees disinfecting and cleaning. There was never a person without a mask. We watched them spraying down pool ladders, handles on restaurant doors, requiring masks in the restaurants and common areas, as well as taking everyone’s temperature before entering a restaurant. The employees at all 3 resorts were very grateful and happy to be working again. Over and over, we heard them say, “We know it is scary traveling right now, but we are so thankful to be working again. We thank you for choosing us.” It was very touching and really eye opening. Beautiful hotel, extremely clean, modern, and beautifully decorated. Our weather was not the greatest, but the service was phenomenal. Pool is huge. It gets windy there, being off the water and in a high rise. The preferred pool service and bar were excellent. What a beautiful view from the roof top pool. Hector and Carlos at the preferred lounge were outstanding. They knew our names immediately and exactly what we were drinking. At the Asian restaurant, we had the sushi chef creating our sushi rolls off the menu, just letting us try different things. It was fantastic. Highly recommend to those that do not need the resort feel. It is off the beaten path, not in the hotel zone. Beach is very, very small. If you are looking for a beach vacation, this is not the place.

The food was amazing, WOW!!. Loved it , excellent resort food. The whole resort was so clean and modern. We had no concerns for the pandemic while there. Golf was discounted and after 1:00 pm they even had twilight rates, fun course. The staff was first rate, all of them were friendly, courteous and went above and beyond for us. Special thanks to Jesus our bartender, all the staff at the morning breakfast buffet, specifically Caesar, Arturo, and Giselle. You are all the best. There were so many more. Everything was top notch. !!!!
Upscale welcoming resort!

Dreams Vista exceeded our expectations. The resort is brand new & there isn't a bad view in the place. Their protocols for a safe and clean stay is absolutely wonderful, without pushing the covid stuff in your face. You feel like you're staying in the cleanest place you've ever been without constantly being reminded we're in a pandemic. They even used tongs to serve us our silverware/napkins! Now that's pristine service. The staff was excellent all around. The entertainment team, the waitstaff/pool and beach staff, everyone went above and beyond to make you feel "at home"!
Great family property, really impressed

First things first, Arturo (World Café breakfast buffet) and Hector (preferred club lounge) are spectacular. They went above and beyond at every chance to make our trip memorable. They should be applauded by management as the kind of employees that a guest would come back for. Now, on to the rest of the review. Food – Typically, when you go to a resort like this, you have a few nights that are duds for dinner. Nothing especially bad, but nothing really great. This resort didn’t disappoint at dinner at all. We had amazing sea bass at BlueWater Grill. Himitsu served us wonderful sushi on more than one night. Even though the overall sushi selection was less than we usually see, we’re putting that down to COVID, and the options we did select were delicious. Mi Lucrecia had delicious soups and a steak special one night that hit the spot. Oscar Noe Sanchez was our waiter at Portofino both times, and he made us feel like family. Oscar, the manager, also took amazing care of us. We did a special dinner, arranged through him, and he and his team blew us away. With COVID, the breakfast buffet is lacking in selection. They serve you, to keep everything cleanly, however the choices are limited to eggs, meat, pancakes, and waffles pretty much every day. They do have cold options, like yogurt and fruit in single portion dishes as well. It made me miss the crepe station at Now Jade prior to COVID. If you can handle the same omelet every morning, or some delicious huevos rancheros, you’ll be satisfied. Drinks – the best drinks we’ve ever had at a resort. Hector, in the Preferred Lounge, is a master mixologist. I hope they see his value and offer him a move to a more prestigious property because he’s worth every penny and more. Other drink service was fine. Fernanda and Jesus at the Rooftop bar were a great team. They made sure our drinks were never empty and always were willing to go grab some espresso for our favorite drinks. They make sure you have everything you need. We only went to the main pool twice. Isme was on top of it there as well. She also went out of her way to get us the drinks we liked, which was very appreciated. Pool – The preferred pool is small. They only have about 30 loungers in the covered area (one third of those are reserved for those that purchase a bottle, the other third are like a large, lay-down bed along the back wall). They do have 10 loungers in the pool as well, but those are full sun all day, no shade. This area was open most mornings until about noon, when it picks up and seats definitely start to fill. Pro tip, take care of the staff (Maria is one of the pool concierges and she made it a point to get to know us. Sahid on the other hand, was dismissive. His loss. We tip well.) Be courteous about how much you actually need a chair. Don’t be a jerk and reserve a pool chair and a covered chair and then never use them. It’s a small space, it’ll be noticed by the other guests. Play nice with your fellow vacationers. GOLF – the golf at Puerto Cancun was good, but SUPER WINDY while we were there. Enough that it made the course very challenging. The transportation is a little different for this course. A golf cart will pick you up at a little hut next to the hole that runs along the hotel (hole 14). We missed our tee time because one day the cart picking us up was almost 30 minutes late. We still got to go off, but it was frustrating. Also, we learned that you have access to play at Playa Mujeres golf course. It isn’t really advertised, but the concierge can set it up for you. It’s about $45 more, and did include transportation. Spa – Elizabeth and Alejandro were both amazing. The spa is beautiful, no complaints. Entertainment – we didn’t really take advantage of the entertainment team at this resort. They don’t seem to come and recruit people at the rooftop pool, which is primarily where we hung out. That said, Costka is the surf instructor and I adore him. He is patient with the kids, makes sure they have a good time, and with the adults – he’s hilarious. I wish the adult wave pool wasn’t broken while we were there, because I would have loved to try it more than the one time. Negative experiences – 1) So, they can’t control the weather, but that said – the week we were there in February had high winds. So much so that dressing nicely for dinner was pointless. So much wind that they couldn’t have pool umbrellas out. It was very unfortunate because some in our group are especially pasty and need the shade at the pool. Any day we had kids with us we had to be at the main pool, which is not heated and quite chilly, with no shade. 2) We booked a Preferred Corner Suite, expecting the view that is on their website. Now, usually I’m not a view snob, but this one mattered to me. When we checked in, our room was on the back side of the hotel, as was the other corner suite booked by our group. All of them are on the far west side, furthest from the ocean. So you have one window pane that does look out over the golf course and can see the ocean, but one wall of windows looks out over the jungle and other structures. Small note for some, but for me, I was frustrated that the view they show on their webpage isn’t even possible in that particular room category. If you book this room expecting a full ocean view, it won’t happen. 3) Preferred check in was slow, even though it was after check in time. We sat comfortably in the preferred lounge for over 45 minutes while they had our passports, etc. It was just way too long after a day of flying. Check in, for guests that have been to these properties before, and whose rooms are clean and ready, shouldn’t take that long. We'd come back to this property, and would love to see it post-COVID.
